Introduction: We aimed to explore if anatomical and technical features could interact and favor the chances of reperfusion according to the treatment strategy: combined technique (CoT) of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) with contact aspiration and stent-retriever (SR) versus SR alone.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of a prospective MT database for carotid terminus or MCA-M1 occlusion, first-line SR alone or CoT, and angiographic run with SR deployed on the first pass. The primary analysis involved the interaction between clinical and angiographic characteristics and first-line MT modality on first-pass effect (FPE; first pass eTICI2c-3).
Data about the effect of Ramadan fasting on seizure control among adolescents with epilepsy (AWE) is scarce. Several psycho-behavioral problems have also been encountered in this teenage group. This study aimed to assess seizure frequency and behavioral outcomes after Ramadan fasting in a sample of AWE METHODS: In this prospective study, AWE who completed fasting during Ramadan 2024 were evaluated regarding the seizure frequency of each type during Shaban (the month immediately preceding Ramadan) and Ramadan.

This study aimed to screen for postpartum depression among women with epilepsy (WWE) versus healthy women and its consequences on establishing a proper mother-infant bonding.
Methods: A group of WWE (n = 102) and a control group of healthy women (n = 119) were evaluated 4-6 weeks postpartum.
X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to investigate the structural, surface and particles properties of a series of zinc oxides (ZnO) doped with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) that were prepared using the sol-gel method. The results demonstrated that the crystallinity of the catalysts decreased as the PVA content increased beyond 5 PVA/ZnO. However, on raising the calcination temperature up to 500 °C, the average crystal size of the PVA/ZnO nanoparticles increased.

Autophagy is a molecular process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, with its impairment or dysregulation linked to the progression of various diseases in mammals. Specific lipids, including phosphoinositides, sphingolipids, and oxysterols, play pivotal roles in inducing and regulating autophagy, highlighting their significance in this intricate process. This review focuses on the critical involvement of these lipids in autophagy and lipophagy, providing a comprehensive overview of the current understanding of their functions.

We present the case of a 23-year-old woman with a left hypochondrial swelling measuring 19×18×13 cm on computed tomography. An endoscopic ultrasound-guided biopsy indicated low-grade papillary proliferation.

In this study the first MISPE cartridges was developed using indacaterol as a template for its selective extraction from rat lung tissues, enabling precise pharmacokinetic evaluation at the drug's site of action. A molecular imprinting polymer was synthesized using indacaterol as a template, methacrylic acid as a functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a cross-linker with a molar ratio (1: 4: 20).

The challenge is to predict the junction type (IE, EI, or N) from a given DNA sequence. Predicting junction type is crucial for understanding gene expression patterns, disease causes, splicing regulation, and gene structure.

Owing to recent advancements in cryo-electron microscopy, voltage-gated ion channels have gained a greater comprehension of their structural characteristics. However, a significant enigma remains unsolved for a large majority of these channels: their gating mechanism. This mechanism, which encompasses the conformational changes between open and closed states, is pivotal to their proper functioning.

We aim to assess the correlation between DSA hemodynamic parameters with CT angiography (CTA) structural measurements and clinical characteristics.
Methods: Cross-sectional analysis of consecutive patients with CaW who underwent CTA+DSA.
Copper-Vit B MOF was successfully prepared by efficient and eco hydrothermal method. The prepared MOF was characterized as a tetragonal crystal copper-MOF nanoparticles by FTIR, SEM, TEM, EDX and XRD. The prepared nanoparticles were used as an effective, inexpensive and low-toxic catalyst in the one-pot synthesis of some new benzoxanthenone derivatives.

Existing RA treatments, although effective to some extent, are not without side effects, prompting a search for more potent therapies. Recent research has revealed the critical role of FAS-associated death domain protein (FADD) microvesicular shedding in RA pathogenesis, expanding its scope beyond apoptosis to include inflammatory and immune pathways.

However, to date, there has been a shortage of studies exploring the impact of nsPEF on the expression of cancer-specific molecules. In this investigation, we sought to assess the effects of nsPEF on melanoma-specific MAGE (Melanoma Antigen Gene Protein Family) expression.

Unfortunately, there is no clear consensus among experts on the ideal treatment for this pathology.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and transient ischemic attack (TIA) patients diagnosed with CFT on computed tomography angiogram (CTA) between January 2015-March 2023.

The most studied functional amyloid is the CsgA, major curli subunit protein, which is produced by numerous strains of Enterobacteriaceae. Although CsgA sequences are highly conserved, they exhibit species diversity, which reflects the specific evolutionary and functional adaptability of the major curli subunit. Herein, we performed bioinformatics analyses to uncover the differences in the amyloidogenic properties of the R4 fragments in Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica and proposed four mutants for more detailed studies: M1, M2, M3, and M4.
