- The study compares the time efficiency of three different kinematics—continuous rotational motion, reciprocating motion, and optimum torque reverse (OTR) motion—in retreating root canals in single-canal mandibular first premolars.
- A total of 45 teeth were prepared and divided into three groups, each using a different retreatment technique to measure the total time required for preparation.
- Results indicated that reciprocating motion (WaveOne Gold) took significantly longer compared to the other techniques, and OTR motion didn't alter preparation time when paired with files meant for continuous rotary motion.
