  • The World Health Organization's ICOPE framework aims to address the healthcare needs of an aging population, but evidence on the needs of older adults and environmental support is limited.
  • A study in Western China surveyed 1200 adults aged 60 and older to assess ICOPE demand, health status, and geographic accessibility of medical resources, finding substantial demand among participants.
  • Results show that older adults in areas with low geographic accessibility have significantly higher ICOPE demand compared to those in regions with better access, indicating that accessibility is a crucial factor affecting their healthcare needs.
