The action of abscisic acid (ABA) is closely related to its level in plant tissues. Uridine diphosphate-glycosyltransferase71c5 (UGT71C5) was characterized as a major UGT enzyme to catalyze the formation of the ABA-glucose ester (ABA-GE), a reversible inactive form of free ABA in (thale cress). UGTs function in a mode where the catalytic base deprotonates an acceptor to allow a nucleophilic attack at the anomeric center of the donor, achieving the transfer of a glucose moiety.

  • Post-fermented tea (PFT) is a popular beverage but poses contamination risks from mycotoxins like zearalenone (ZEN) during processing and storage.
  • A new indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ic-ELISA) using egg yolk immunoglobulins (IgY) was developed to detect ZEN in PFT easily and affordably.
  • The assay demonstrated high accuracy with a recovery rate of 89.5% to 98.0% for ZEN in PFT samples and showed comparable results to high-performance liquid chromatography, indicating it’s effective for quick screening of ZEN contamination.
