Background: A high number of stroke patients cannot recover fully from motor impairment despite early rehabilitation. Auricular therapies, usually given by acupuncture doctors or nurses, have been widely used among these post-stroke patients. Potential benefits of auricular therapies were shown in recent clinical trials.

It is a cytoplasmic immune factor that responds to cellular stress signals, and it is usually activated after infection or inflammation, forming an NLRP3 inflammasome to protect the body. Aberrant NLRP3 inflammasome activation is reportedly associated with some inflammatory diseases and metabolic diseases.

Here, we describe three cases of utilization of kidneys from TB-infected donors in renal transplantation at our center, two of whom had active TB. In these three cases, all recipients had good graft function and negative TST results during the 1-4 year follow-up period.

However, the role of cerebellum-derived radiomic and structural connectome modeling in the prediction of AD progression remains unclear.
Methods: Radiomic features were extracted from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset (n = 1319) and an in-house dataset (n = 308).
Objective: Patients with mixed-type lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) have a higher incidence of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) after endovascular treatment (EVT). This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with PTS in these patients after EVT.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with acute mixed-type lower extremity DVT who underwent EVT between January 2020 and December 2022.
The development, progression, and curative efficacy of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are influenced by complex interactions between epithelial and immune cells. Nevertheless, the specific changes in the nature of these interactions and their underlying molecular mechanisms in HNSCC are not yet fully understood. Cuproptosis, a form of programmed cell death that is dependent on copper, has been implicated in cancer pathogenesis.

Methods: A total of 131 participants (mean age, 46 years ±17; 46 men) were included in the study.
Background: Renal ischaemia‒reperfusion injury (IRI) is the primary cause of acute kidney injury (AKI). To date, effective therapies for delaying renal IRI and postponing patient survival remain absent. Ankyrin repeat domain 1 (ANKRD1) has been implicated in some pathophysiologic processes, but its role in renal IRI has not been explored.

Phillygenin (PHI), a natural bioactive compound derived from Forsythia suspensa, has been shown to play a crucial role in regulating inflammation across various diseases. However, its specific regulatory effects in ischaemic stroke progression remain unclear.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by various motor and non-motor symptoms. The complexity of its symptoms suggests that PD is a heterogeneous neurological disorder. Its pathological changes are not limited to the substantia nigra-striatal system, but gradually extending to other regions including the cerebellum.

Dose calculation and/or measurement checks are usually adopted for pre-treatment verification. This study aims to evaluate the relationship among plan complexities, calculated doses and measured doses.

Mitochondrial damage induced oxidative stress is the core link of renal I/R injury. Ligustilide (LIG), a natural compound extracted from ligusticum chuanxiong hort and angelica sinensis, has exhibited the potential to protect mitochondrial function.

The goal of this study was to look at the relationships between intestinal flora and glioblastoma, and to provide a new perspective for the diagnosis as well as treatment of glioblastoma.

This study examined 80 donors and 160 recipients, including 30 donors with diabetes (DD) and their 60 recipients (DDR). The control group comprised 50 non-diabetic donors (ND) and 100 recipients (NDR).

While the cure rate and prognosis of early ccRCC are promising, the 5-year survival rate of patients with metastatic ccRCC is below 12%. Autophagy disfunction is closely related to infection, cancer, neurodegeneration and aging.

However, the mid-term outcomes of TRAS when treated by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with stent placement have yet to be fully elucidated. The purpose of this study was to compare mid-term graft and patient survival of TRAS group with a control group.

During liver ischemia-reperfusion injury, existing mechanisms involved oxidative stress, calcium overload, and the activation of inflammatory responses involve mitochondrial injury. Mitochondrial autophagy, a process that maintains the normal physiological activity of mitochondria, promotes cellular metabolism, improves cellular function, and facilitates organelle renewal. Mitochondrial autophagy is involved in oxidative stress and apoptosis, of which the PINK1-Parkin pathway is a major regulatory pathway, and the deletion of PINK1 and Parkin increases mitochondrial damage, reactive oxygen species production, and inflammatory response, playing an important role in mitochondrial quality regulation.

This study aimed to investigate the influence of curcumin (CUR) on ferroptosis in CRC. The efficacies of CUR on the malignant phenotype of CRC cells were determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide, wound healing, and clonogenic assays.

This analytical method initiates with the dispensing of an extraction solvent onto the needles coated with the mucus sample, almost simultaneously applying a high voltage to generate analyte ions. This innovative strategy obliterates the necessitation for laborious sample preparation, thereby simplifying the sampling process.

Healthcare disparities are common among people living with HIV (PLWH) in China and likely impact access to HIV services. This study aimed to assess the current status of access to HIV services among PLWH and explore the correlates of service uptake using baseline data from a prospective cohort study among PLWH in Jiangsu Province. Guided by Andersen's behavioral model, univariable and multivariable logistic regressions were conducted to identify factors associated with access to HIV services.
