A 3-bp deletion (ΔGAG) in TOR1A is a common cause of early-onset isolated dystonia DYT-TOR1A. The exact disease mechanism remains unknown. Here we describe the generation and characterization of four TorsinA-3xFLAG reporter induced pluripotent cell (iPSC) lines derived from a DYT-TOR1A patient.

Methods: A qualitative study was undertaken. All students from Classes 2022 through 2025 at Texas A&M University School of Pharmacy were required to engage in reflection on a personal statement of philosophy of practice early in their first year of pharmacy as part of the structured longitudinal co-curricular course requirement.
Mutations in the brain-specific β-tubulin 4A (TUBB4A) gene cause a broad spectrum of diseases, ranging from dystonia (DYT-TUBB4A) to hypomyelination with atrophy of the basal ganglia and cerebellum (H-ABC). Currently, the mechanisms of how variants lead to this pleiotropic manifestation remain elusive. Here, we investigated whether mutations causing either DYT-TUBB4A (p.

Educational Activity And Setting: Brand name, generic name, and class of Top 300 Prescription Medications were uploaded into the program in four different study sets. Students were encouraged to utilize the provided games to prepare for quizzes.
Introduction: In order to promote interprofessional education (IPE) within the advanced experiential curriculum, the Office of Experiential Affairs (OEA) at Western New England University (WNE) created a process by which information regarding IPE at the practice sites is collected, verified, quantified, and used for preceptor development.
Methods: An interprofessional education preceptor survey (IPEPS), consisting of 43 standardized questions designed to assess IPE opportunities available at practice sites, was administered to 55 preceptors in spring 2016 using Qualtrics. Throughout the 2016-2017 academic year, students were required to document two interprofessional interactions that occurred during each of their four required APPE rotations.
2-Amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (TRIS) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) are key components of biological buffers and are frequently used as DNA stabilizers in irradiation studies. Such surface or liquid phase studies are done with the aim to understand the fundamental mechanisms of DNA radiation damage and to improve cancer radiotherapy. When ionizing radiation is used, abundant secondary electrons are formed during the irradiation process, which are able to attach to the molecular compounds present on the surface.

To design and implement a longitudinal course series focused on professional development and professional identity formation in pharmacy students at Western New England University. A four-year, theme-based course series was designed to sequentially and longitudinally impart the values, attributes, and characteristics of a professional pharmacist. Requirements of the course include: goal planning and reflective assignments, submission of "Best Works," attendance at professional meetings, completion of service hours, annual completion of a Pharmacy Professionalism Instrument, attendance at Dean's Seminar, participation in roundtable discussions, and maintenance of an electronic portfolio.

The doubly ionized state was created by core ionizing the C 1s orbitals of the samples, rapidly followed by Auger decay. Due to the recent development of nitroimidazole-based radiosensitizing drugs, core ionization was selected as it represents the very same processes taking place under the irradiation with medical X-rays.

LEEs induce DNA strand breaks at specific energies (resonances) by dissociative electron attachment (DEA). Although halogenated nucleobases show intense DEA resonances at various electron energies in the gas phase, it is inherently difficult to investigate the influence of halogenated nucleobases on the actual DNA strand breakage over the broad range of electron energies at which DEA can take place (<12 eV).

LEEs are a short-living species generated during the radiation damage of DNA by high-energy radiation as it is applied in cancer radiation therapy. Electron attachment to A in the gas phase results in a stable parent anion below 3 eV electron energy in addition to fragmentation products formed by resonant exocyclic bond cleavages.

A professionalism rubric was adapted from the literature to assess the professional behavior of students enrolled in experiential courses based on evaluation of the following criteria: appropriate communication skills with patients and providers, appearance and dress code, timeliness, and initiative. The rubric was implemented in the fall semester of 2013 as a high-stakes component of the assessment within all experiential courses.

The experiments were carried out using a hemispherical electron monochromator coupled with a quadrupole mass spectrometer. Diversified fragmentation of hydroxyurea was observed upon low energy electron attachment and here we highlight the major dissociation channels.

The anion mass spectra and individual ion efficiency curves from Hyp were measured as a function of electron energy below 9 eV. The mass spectra at 1 and 6 eV exhibit the highest anion yields, indicating possible common precursor ions that decay into the detectable anionic fragments.

The involved unimolecular decompositions range from simple bond cleavages (loss of H(•), formation of NO2(-)) to complex reactions possibly leading to a complete degradation of the target molecule (formation of CN(-), etc.).

In the present investigation, dissociative electron attachment to NH2CN has been studied in a crossed electron-molecular beams experiment in the electron energy range from about 0 eV to 14 eV. The following anionic species were detected: NHCN(-), NCN(-), CN(-), NH2(-), NH(-), and CH2(-).

Ion efficiency curves of the threshold regions and the corresponding appearance energies (AEs) are presented for the parent cations and the five most abundant fragment cations of each molecule. The experimental ionization energies (IEs) of adenine and hypoxanthine were determined to be 8.

The reactions include simple bond cleavages but also complex reactions involving multiple bond cleavages and formation of new molecules. Both simple and complex reactions are associated with pronounced sharp features in the anionic yields, which are interpreted as vibrational Feshbach resonances acting as effective doorways for DEA.

The purpose of this study was to develop a more accurate measurement technique for the morphometry of the odontoid peg (dens axis) and to provide a recommendation for ventral screw osteosynthesis. Images of the cervical spine of 44 Caucasian patients, taken with a 64-line CT scanner, were evaluated using the measuring software MIMICS.
