Difficult to treat Pseudomonas: successful salvage therapy with cefepime-zidebactam.

Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPa) infection is extremely challenging to manage. Cefepime-zidebactam is a novel combination that can be considered for salvage therapy when no other antimicrobials are susceptible. A 15-y-old boy presented with 56% thermal burns, followed by skin and soft tissue infection, secondary bacteraemia, complicated parapneumonic effusion and endophthalmitis due to CRPa, which was not susceptible to any of the routinely available antibiotics.

Association of Formulary Exclusions and Restrictions for Opioid Alternatives With Opioid Prescribing Among Medicare Beneficiaries.

Importance: Although there are many pharmacologic alternatives to opioids, it is unclear whether the structure of Medicare Part D formularies discourages use of the alternatives.

Objectives: To quantify the coverage of opioid alternatives and prevalence of prior authorization, step therapy, quantity limits, and tier placement for these drugs, and test whether these formulary exclusions and restrictions are associated with increased opioid prescribing to older adults at the county level.

The role of agriculture in women's nutrition: Empirical evidence from India.

In this paper, we establish a statistically important relationship between household agricultural income and women's BMI using a five-year panel dataset of rural households drawn from 18 villages across five Indian states. Using within household variation over time, we estimate both the extent to which short-term changes in agricultural income are associated with short-term changes in BMI, and the effect of agricultural income growth on BMI growth over a longer term.
