Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) present with symptoms ranging from a mildly altered level of consciousness to irreversible coma and death. The most severe stage of TBIs is diffuse axonal injury and swelling affecting the whole brain. Management strategies are based on the classification of TBIs by severity and type and range from cognitive therapy sessions to complex surgeries.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a critical complication and concern in hospitalized patients due to its significant morbidity and mortality. Given the complex and multifaceted pathophysiology surrounding DVT formation, patients who have had surgical interventions faced acute or chronic trauma and prolonged immobility are at substantially high risk. Identifying these risk factors early is essential for early intervention and prophylaxis.

The main aim of orthodontic treatment is to achieve most stable, functional, and esthetic outcome either by conventional, interdisciplinary, or surgical protocol. Treatment modalities differ for growing and nongrowing patients. In nongrowing patients with moderate to severe dental and skeletal deformities, interdisciplinary treatment combined approach is required with orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.
