Purpose: To evaluate fatigue in the mothers of children with cerebral palsy (CP), and to determine its associations with clinical parameters of CP, depression and quality of life (QoL).
Method: Ninety children (50 girls and 40 boys) with spastic CP and their mothers were included. Control group comprised mothers of healthy children.
Objective: To evaluate how bone mineral density in the calcaneus measured by a dual energy X-ray laser (DXL) correlates with bone mineral density in the spine and hip in Turkish women over 40 years of age and to determine whether calcaneal dual energy X-ray laser variables are associated with clinical risk factors to the same extent as axial bone mineral density measurements obtained using dual energy x-ray absorbtiometry (DXA).
Materials And Methods: A total of 2,884 Turkish women, aged 40-90 years, living in Ankara were randomly selected. Calcaneal bone mineral density was evaluated using a dual energy X-ray laser Calscan device.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of joint hypermobility among high school students and to define the characteristics of patients with joint hypermobility.
Methods: The students underwent complete history and physical examination. In order to designate marfanoid habitus, body weight, height, and span/height and upper/lower segment ratios were recorded.
The aim of this study was to identify the efficacy of in-patient stroke rehabilitation, to evaluate the relationship between clinical characteristics and functional outcome, and to determine factors predicting functional outcome at discharge in Turkish stroke patients with a team approach. Retrospective data were collected from 102 of 116 patients with first stroke who were admitted to our rehabilitation unit at Ankara University. Demographic data, length of hospital stay (LOHS), onset to admission interval (OAI), type, side and location of stroke lesion, and most common medical complications were recorded.
