The Health Enhancement Lifestyle Profile (HELP) was an assessment instrument for health-related behaviors and was translated into Japanese (HELP-J) using subjective rating scales. This study investigated the internal validity of the HELP-J using a Rasch analysis. Snowball and purposive sampling were used for data collection.

MnTe is considered a promising candidate for next-generation phase change materials owing to the reversible and nonvolatile phase transformation between its α and β' phases by irradiation of a nanosecond laser or application of a pulse voltage. In this work, for a faster phase control of MnTe, the response of metastable β-MnTe thin films to femtosecond (fs) laser irradiation was investigated. Using ultrafast optical spectroscopy, we inferred transient phase transformation.

Therefore, the development of a disease-modifying drug for endometriosis is an unmet medical need. By studying human endometriotic samples, we found that the progression of endometriosis was associated with the development of inflammation and fibrosis.

A 62-year-old male presented with a subcutaneous nodule on the right lower abdomen around a scar from surgery for urothelial carcinoma in the right urinary tract, which had been resected 8 years previously. Histologically, atypical cells possessing ample cytoplasm and partial intracytoplasmic lumens were densely grouped in the subcutaneous expansive nodule and bilateral inguinal lymph nodes dissected.

Although Mg-transition-metal spinel oxides have been shown to be excellent candidates as MRB cathode materials by utilizing the valence change from trivalent to divalent of transition metals starting from Mg insertion, there is no clear evidence to date that Mg can be indeed extracted from the initial spinel hosts by utilizing the change from trivalent to quadrivalent. In this work, we clearly present various experimental evidences of the electrochemical extraction of Mg from spinel MgMnO.

However, there are still no clinical MTA options for many cancers, including esophageal cancer. We used a short hairpin RNA library to screen for a new oncogene in the esophageal cancer cell line KYSE70 and identified YES proto-oncogene 1 () as having a significant impact on tumor growth.

Patient 1 was a 71-year-old Japanese man. After adjuvant cryotherapy and enucleation of the right eyeball, therapy with vemurafenib was administered for a distant metastasis to a lumbar vertebra, accompanied by erythema multiforme and two keratinous tumours.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA 65-year-old Japanese man presented with a dome-shaped nodule, the base of which was contiguous with a dull brown plaque, on the left leg. After local excision of the cutaneous lesion and left inguinal lymph node dissection, several dermal and subcutaneous nodules developed successively on the left lower extremity. Hematoxylin-eosin staining of the primary cutaneous lesion demonstrated uniform neoplastic cells arranged in a trabecular pattern extending from the dermis to subcutis.

Severe AC is often complicated by disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), the diagnostic criteria of which overlap with AC-associated hematological dysfunction. Since the diagnosis of DIC often delays definitive surgical management of severe AC, treatment of DIC in this setting is clinically important.

Histologically, a well-demarcated nodule demonstrated a patternless pattern composed of hemangiopericytoma-like and short storiform patterns from the subcutis into deeper tissue. Antler-like branching blood vessels and keloidal-type collagen bundles were seen.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA 34-year-old Japanese man presented with an indolent nodule on the right flank. Computed tomography of the chest and abdomen demonstrated a large nodule measuring 55 mm × 50 mm in the abdominal oblique muscle layer of the right flank, and several small nodules were seen in the muscle layer throughout the body and subcutaneous tissue of the lower abdomen. F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography revealed nodular lesions in the bilateral parotid glands, bilateral cervical lymph nodes and lower lobe of the right lung.
