Objectives: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common cause of hair loss in men and women, and it can affect the psychological and social activities of individuals, thus reducing their quality of life. Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a recent adjuvant treatment for this condition with promising results for hair regrowth. Purpose: Scientific evidence indicates that depression and anxiety symptoms may be understood as risk factors associated with the incidence and progression of chronic diseases. Considering the lack of mental health assessment tools that meet strict methodological standards, the authors have chosen to validate the psychometric properties of Anxiety and Depression Item Banks - Emotional Distress domain of the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS®) for the Brazilian population.

Methods: In this study, 606 adults responded to the self-administered Anxiety and Depression Item Banks, which were calibrated using Factor Analyses (Exploratory and Confirmatory analysis) and adjustment of the Graded Response Model.

Unlabelled: PASE (Psoriatic Arthritis Screening and Evaluation) was developed in the English language to screen for inflammatory arthritis among patients with psoriasis. It is 15 item self administered questionnaire with a score from 15 to 75. A higher score indicates a greater risk for inflammatory joint disease.

Objective: To evaluate the perception of parents or caregivers on the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of children/adolescents with overweight/obesity and possible factors associated with this perception.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving 297 caregivers of children and adolescents with normal weight (n=170) and with overweight/obesity (n=127), from public and private schools in the study municipality. HRQOL scores obtained through the Child Health Questionnaire - Parent Form 50 (CHQ-PF50) were compared according to the nutritional status and gender of the children/adolescents.

The items bank of the Fatigue domain is part of an American system developed for evaluation of results reported by patients, called Patient-Reported-Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS). This study aimed to translate and cross-culturally adapt this item bank for the Brazilian population, as a promising new tool for evaluating health-related quality of life. The items in this bank were translated using rigorous translation and back-translation protocols.
