Background: Conventional treatments, including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, have many limitations in the prognosis of glioma patients. Atorvastatin (ATOR) has a significant inhibitory effect on glioma malignancy. Thus, ATOR may play a key role in the search for new drugs for the effective treatment of gliomas.

Introduction: Ovarian cancer (OVCA) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, and its diagnosis is typically accompanied by the production of ascites. Although liquid biopsy has been widely implemented recently, the diagnosis or prognosis of OVCA based on liquid biopsy remains the primary emphasis.

Methods: In this study, using proximity barcoding assay, a technique for analyzing the surface proteins on single extracellular vesicles (EVs).

As a prevalent tumor among women, breast cancer is still an incurable disease due to drug resistance. In this study, we report microRNA-221 to have a significant effect on breast cancer resistance to adriamycin. The microRNA-221 is elevated in tumor tissue compared with nearby nontumor samples, as well as in breast cancer cell line with adriamycin resistance (MCF-7/ADR) compared to its parental line (MCF-7) and the normal breast epithelial cell line (MCF-10A).

Aims: To evaluate the expression and clinical significance of PI3Kp110α and PI3Kp110β in colorectal conventional adenoma, serrated lesions and adenoma with canceration.

Methods And Results: Immunohistochemistry and Western blot analysis were conducted to detect the expression of p110α and p110β in normal colorectal tissues, conventional adenoma, serrated lesions and adenoma canceration. Results revealed that the expression of P110α and P110β in the adenoma canceration was significantly higher than that in normal tissues, tubular adenoma (low grade) and tubular-villous adenoma (low grade) of conventional adenoma, hyperplastic polyps of serrated lesions (P<0.

Unlabelled: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the expressions of autophagy-related genes Raptor, Rictor, and Beclin1 and the expression of multidrug resistance (MDR) gene in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Immunohistochemistry and real-time polymerase chain reaction were used to detect the protein and messenger RNA expressions of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), Raptor, Rictor, Beclin1, light chain 3 (LC3), and MDR-1 in 279 CRC specimens. Patients were followed up annually by telephone or at an outpatient clinic.

Autophagy is related to cancer and other diseases, and compromised autophagy could promote chromosome instability associated with carcinogenesis and tumor progression. The role of autophagy in the growth and metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC) remains poorly understood. Beclin1 mediates autophagic initiation, and LC3 is a specific marker for autophagy.

The phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) are a critical family of signaling enzymes that participate in many cellular processes that promote the transformation of a normal cell into a cancer cell. These processes include cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. However, the correlation between PI3Ks and multidrug resistance (MDR) remains unclear.
