To understand the habitat distribution characteristics of in summer in Jiangsu coastal waters, we analyzed the relationship between resource density and habitat environment of by using a two-stage generalized additive model based on the survey data of fishery resources in August 2022, combined with the data of bottom water temperature, bottom salinity, depth, chlorophyll-a and prey species. The results showed that the average resource density of in summer was 15.03 kg·km, which mainly distributed in the outer sea area of Lusi Fishing Ground and the middle sea area of Haizhou Bay Fishing Ground.

Background: Vonoprazan and amoxicillin (VA) dual therapy as a mainstream Helicobacter pylori regimen has gained momentum worldwide, but the optimum dosages remain unclear. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of VA dual therapy with 2 g amoxicillin or 3 g amoxicillin, and to assess the short-term effects of therapy on the gut microbiota and antibiotic resistome.

Methods: We conducted an open-label, non-inferiority randomised controlled trial at 12 centres in China.

Conventional polymers are usually processed at a much higher temperature than room temperature, which inevitably leads to huge energy consumption and degradation of the polymers and thus a low recycling ability. Herein, we synthesized a poly( n-butyl acrylate)@polystyrene (PBA@PS) core-shell polymer to prepare a typical baroplastic (processible at room temperature). However, this type of baroplastics always has a low mechanical property.

Cisplatin (CDDP) is used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but due to the development of resistance, the benefit has been limited. Toosendanin (TSN) has shown therapeutic effects on NSCLC; however, the role of TSN on CDDP sensitization in NSCLC remains unknown. The antitumor effects of TSN and CDDP sensitization mediated by TSN were explored.

Objective: To explore the method and clinical effect of MAST Quadrant for lumbar spondylolisthesis with adjacent segment degeneration.

Methods: From April 2014 to January 2016, 36 cases of lumbar spondylolisthesis with adjacent segment degeneration were treated by MAST Quadrant(target nerve decompression and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion or articulationes zygapophysiales fusion by unilateral fixation with MAST Quadrant). Twenty-three cases were degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis and 13 cases were isthmic lumbar spondylolisthesis.

The ultra-high mechanical, biocompatible and biodegradable porous regenerated cellulose/poly(ethylene glycol) (RC/PEG) composites with double network structure were fabricated via an simple method to dissolve cellulose followed by UV irradiation. The porous structure of RC/PEG was sensitively altered by PEG contents, which led to the porous structure morphology transition from 3D fibrillar network to close-grained sheet-like-network with the loading of cross-linked PEG. The porous RC/PEG showed excellent mechanical properties, i.

Objective: To further explore the function of combine use of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) and cisplatin (DDP) in lung carcinoma.

Methods: We used the combination drug to treat Lewis lung cancer mice, investigated the expression level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), Kruppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) and A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 1 (ADAMTS1) and to further explore the inhibitory effects and potential mechanism of TMP combined with DDP on tumor angiogenesis.

Results: The tumor growth was suppressed in TMP group, DDP group and TMP combined with DDP group.

Background: Our previous study demonstrated that selective nerve root block (SNRB) can influence decision-making in lumbar surgery by guiding the selection of nerve roots targeted for decompression in diagnostic doubt patients (DDPs). However, further studies were needed to determine whether this selective decompression (SD) procedure would result in similar clinical outcomes and reduce the perioperative parameters and postoperative complications as compared to the non-selective decompression (NSD) procedure.

Objective: The specific goal of this study is to compare clinical outcomes, perioperative parameters, and complications between SD and NSD procedures in DDPs.

An electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) was applied to analyze the element Sr and Ca microchemistry patterns in otoliths of Larimichthys polyactis in Lüsi coastal waters of Jiangsu Province, China. The results showed that Sr was heterogeneously distributed along the sagittal plane of the otoliths. The highest Sr concentration was normally found in the otolith cores while much lower concentrations were found in the remaining areas.

Article Synopsis
  • A fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) system was developed for DNA detection, utilizing quantum dots as the energy donor and ethidium bromide as the receptor.
  • The concentrations of probe DNA, ethidium bromide, and sodium chloride were optimized to ensure a stable and reproducible signal.
  • The method demonstrates a linear detection range of 7.7-61.6 nM, with a high correlation coefficient of 0.998 and a low detection limit of 7.7 nM, making it a simple and sensitive option for label-free DNA detection.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers developed silica nanoparticles using CdTe quantum dots (QDs) protected by polyelectrolyte PDADMAC through self-assembly and electrostatic attraction.
  • The nanoparticles, characterized by transmission electron microscopy and Zeta potential analysis, showed a uniform spherical shape and an average diameter of about 25 nm, with a Zeta potential of -35.07 mV indicating good stability.
  • Compared to traditional QDs coated with SiO2, the new QDs-PDADMAC@SiO2 nanoparticles demonstrated significantly stronger fluorescence, improved stability, and good biological compatibility, making them suitable for cellular imaging applications.

Article Synopsis
  • - Lung cancer, particularly small cell lung cancer (SCLC), is a major global health issue, prompting research into the effectiveness of the serum tumor marker pro-gastrin-releasing peptide 31-98 (ProGRP31-98) for diagnosis compared to standard pathological methods.
  • - A comprehensive literature search from 1978 to 2009 analyzed 22 relevant studies involving a total of 6,759 subjects to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ProGRP31-98 levels for SCLC, using rigorous criteria for research inclusion.
  • - The results indicated a high degree of variability among the studies analyzed, with pooled sensitivity results indicating that while ProGRP31-98 shows potential, further examination and consistent findings are needed to

Injection-molded semicrystalline polymer parts generally exhibited a so-called skin-core structure basically as a result of the large gradients of temperature, shear rate, stress, and pressure fields created by the boundary conditions of injection molding. Suppression of the skin-core structure is a long-term practical challenge. In the current work, the skin-core structure of the conventional injection-molded isotactic polypropylene (iPP) was largely relieved by the cooperative effects of an in situ microfibrillar network and interfacial compatibilizer.
