Background: Clinical studies have demonstrated the high efficacy of using chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and orphan G protein-coupled receptor, class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D) to treat relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). In this study, we compared the efficacy and safety of BCMA CAR-T-cell therapy (BCMA CAR-T) and GPRC5D CAR T-cell therapy (GPRC5D CAR-T) in patients with RRMM.
Methods: We retrieved and included eligible clinical trials of BCMA or GPRC5D CAR-T for RRMM patients.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Mulberry (Morus alba L.) leaf is a well-known herbal medicine in China for thousands of years. Mulberry leaf can regulate arachidonic acid (ARA) metabolism disorder in obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Numerous studies have extensively investigated inexpensive Ni-based catalysts for application in solar-driven DRM. However, these catalysts often suffer from activity loss due to carbon accumulation.

We investigated the impact of GaN substrates on the thermal and electronic properties of monolayer MoS. The results reveal that the polarity of the GaN substrate significantly affects the thermal conductivity of monolayer MoS.

Background: The digital age has had a profound impact on our lives and cognitive abilities, such as working memory. Typically, visual working memory (VWM) is an important aspect of our working memory. As a crucial cognitive function for individuals, VWM has been extensively studied in the context of the digital age and may be affected by the digital age.

Here, a targeted long-read sequencing (T-LRS) is demonstrated to capture 20 genes/loci in 1,020 β-thalassemia patients. This panel permits not only identification of thalassemia mutations at 100% of sensitivity and specificity, but also detection of rare structural variants (SVs) and single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in modifier genes/loci.

Background: Gut microbiota are associated with the pathological features and development of colorectal cancer (CRC); however, how gut microbiota changes in patients with CRC is unknown. This study investigated the role of gut microbiota in the development and progression of CRC by retrospectively comparing the structural differences between the gut microbiota of patients with CRC and healthy individuals.
Methods: Together with clinical data, we collected fecal samples from patients with CRC (n = 18) and healthy controls (n = 18) and performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing and alpha and beta diversity analysis to compare microbiota richness and diversity.
Background: Prenatal whole exome sequencing (WES) is becoming an increasingly used diagnostic tool for fetuses with structural anomalies. However, the identification of variants of uncertain significance (VUS) in clinically relevant genes can significantly complicate prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling.
Case Presentation: A fetus conceived through in vitro fertilization at the third attempt presented with polydactyly and molar tooth sign at 24 + 6 weeks of gestation.
Background: Pure partial trisomy 16q12.1q22.1 is a rare chromosome copy number variant (CNV).

The gut microbiota plays a significant role in bacterial infection, but its relationship and predictive capacity with infectious complications in DLBCL are unknown.
Methods: We performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing of fecal samples collected from 41 patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL at baseline, after every two cycles of standard immunochemotherapy, during infection, and after infection recovery.
Aims: Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) progresses quickly and often leads to early hemorrhagic death. Treatment with all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) promotes differentiation of APL cells and clinical remission, making APL a potentially curable malignancy. Understanding how ATRA works may lead to new treatments for other types of leukemia.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA central topic in neuroscience is the neural coding problem which aims to decipher how the brain signals sensory information through neural activity. Despite significant advancements in this area, the characterisation of information encoding through the precise timing of spikes in the somatosensory cortex is limited. Here, we utilised a comprehensive dataset from previous studies to identify and characterise temporal response patterns of Layer 4 neurons of the rat barrel cortex to five distinct stimuli with varying complexities: Basic, Contact, Whisking, Rough, and Smooth.

Although multimerization and albumin binding can extend their circulation time and improve tumor targeting, a simple and universal method for creating protein multimers is still needed. Here, we leveraged the facile synthesis, controllable size, and precise assembly of DNA nanotechnology to construct CD47-targeted framework nucleic acid-nanobody fusion probes with multiple valences and sizes.

Since patient-specific coronary samples are not available for patients requiring continuous monitoring, direct experimental testing of vessel material properties becomes impossible. Current coronary models typically use material parameters from available literature, leading to significant mechanical stress/strain calculation errors.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are crucial in stress perception, the integration of environmental signals, and the activation of downstream response networks. This review emphasizes ROS-mediated signaling pathways in microalgae and presents an overview of strategies for leveraging ROS. Eight distinct signaling pathways mediated by ROS in microalgae have been summarized, including the calcium signaling pathway, the target of rapamycin signaling pathway, the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway, the cyclic adenosine monophosphate/protein kinase A signaling pathway, the ubiquitin/protease pathway, the ROS-regulated transcription factors and enzymes, the endoplasmic reticulum stress, and the retrograde ROS signaling.
