Calycosin, the main extract from the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Astragalus membranaceus, has demonstrated anti-osteoporotic properties in ovariectomized (OVX) mice. However, the specific pathways through which it prevents osteoporosis remain unexplored. This study aimed to investigate the pathways by which calycosin promotes autophagy in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and alleviates ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis.

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and molecular characteristics of AiV-D among dairy cattle in China. From October 2021 to August 2022, 279 fecal samples were collected from diarrheal dairy cattle across seven provinces in China.

Otop1 acts as a receptor for sour and ammonium salt tastes in mammals, but its gating mechanisms and pharmacology remain poorly understood. Here, we report the functional characterization of three small molecule positive allosteric modulators of Otop1-MFaN, HIMOP, and B2FAMP-that enhance proton gating in a pH-dependent manner, potentiating Otop1 activity under weak acidic but not strong acidic conditions.

Methods: In this study, we collected 54,974 nasopharyngeal swab samples for influenza A Virus (IAV) testing and 53,151 samples for influenza B Virus (IBV) testing from pediatric outpatients. Additionally, we also collected 19,687 nasopharyngeal swab samples from pediatric inpatients for IAV and IBV testing.
Tin-lead metal halide perovskites show promise as light-absorbing materials with a tunable band gap (1.2-1.4 eV) for efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with less toxicity.

Dysregulation of macrophage immunometabolism has been closely implicated in several metabolic diseases, including obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), hypertension, atherosclerosis, and gout, which positions macrophages as potential therapeutic targets. Recently, several natural products that target macrophage metabolic pathways have shown significant efficacy in managing metabolic diseases; however, a systematic review of these findings has yet to be conducted.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included participants from the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted between 1999 and 2010.
Background: Lung cancer (LC) is the leading cause of cancer-related death in humans. tRNA-derived small RNA (tsRNA) is a novel biomarker that plays a crucial role in the genesis and development of LC. In this study, we aimed to investigate the value of differentially expressed tsRNAs in LC through meta-analysis.

Inspired by the clinical success of immunomodulatory drugs, we aimed to design novel molecular glue degraders targeting GSPT1. Here, we report the design of a series of GSPT1 molecular glue degraders.

A specific and sensitive detection assay for BCoV is critical to the early-stage disease prevention and control.
Methods: We established a specific, sensitive, and stable assay for BCoV nucleic acid detection based on CRISPR/Cas13a combined with reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification (RT-RAA) technology.
Background: Research on achieving a good death for terminally delirious patients is scarce, with limited knowledge about the level of good death and influencing factors. This study investigates the level of good death among delirium patients, factors influencing it, and the correlation between distress, end-of-life care needs, and achieving a good death by surveying bereaved family members of deceased patients in Chinese hospitals.
Methods: This cross-sectional study from January 2022 to January 2024 was conducted among bereaved family members of patients using an online questionnaire.
Introduction: Health education, weight control and exercise therapy are recognised treatment options for the non-surgical management of knee osteoarthritis (KOA); however, the pain and muscle fatigue associated with exercise make it difficult for patients to initially adhere. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) massage is an important complementary and alternative therapy that can effectively address these deficiencies. According to TCM theory and preliminary clinical practice, loosening of the muscles while pointing to acupoints can promote the recovery of KOA.

The obtained dissociation solution needs to be concentrated for improving the sensitivity of the assay. However, it is not good for the analysis of hydrophobic and volatile compounds such as coumarins.

Diquat (DQ), a contact herbicide extensively utilized in both agricultural and nonagricultural domains, exhibits a high correlation with neuronal disorders. Nevertheless, the toxicity and underlying mechanisms associated with exposure to environmental concentrations of DQ remain ambiguous. Here, we report dose-dependent cellular neurotoxicity of DQ in .

Method: Forty-two TED patients who underwent diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) were retrospectively enrolled in this study, including 29 patients in analysis group and 13 patients in validation group. The mean, maximum and minimum ADC value of each EOM were regarded as ADCmean, ADCmax and ADCmin.
The peptide toxin SsTx-4 derived from venom of centipede Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans was characterized as a potent antagonist of the inwardly rectifying potassium (Kir) channel subtypes Kir1.1, Kir4.1, and Kir6.

Nevertheless, the reasons for this could be the same key transporters. This study investigated the iron deposition in different organs of transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT) patients and its correlation.

Here, we develop a segmentation tracking and clustering system (STCS) to address two major challenges in computational neuroethology: reliable multi-animal tracking and pose estimation under complex interaction conditions and providing interpretable insights into social differences guided by genotype information. We established a comprehensive, long-term, multi-animal-tracking dataset across various experimental settings.
