In classical cell culture techniques, cancer cells typically proliferate in a single layer by adhering to the undersurface of laboratory vessels. Consequently, concerns have been raised regarding the fidelity of the morphological and functional characteristics of these cultured cancer cells compared to those of their counterparts. Our previous studies have investigated various epithelial malignant tumors utilizing the Tissueoid cell culture system, a three-dimensional (3D) cultivation method employing Cellbed-a nonwoven sheet composed of high-purity silica fibers as a scaffold.

Eculizumab, a monoclonal antibody against complement C5, has been approved to prevent neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) relapse. Although complement activation leads to neuroinflammation and tissue necrosis in NMOSD attacks, clinical reports on the efficacy of eculizumab in the acute phase of NMOSD are limited. To clarify its effectiveness against clinical symptoms in NMOSD attacks, we described five patients with NMOSD who were administered eculizumab soon after treatment for an attack.

Both development and regeneration depend on signaling centers, which are sources of locally secreted tissue-patterning molecules. As many signaling centers are decommissioned before the end of embryogenesis, a fundamental question is how signaling centers can be re-induced later in life to promote regeneration after injury. Here, we use the axolotl salamander model (Ambystoma mexicanum) to address how the floor plate is assembled for spinal cord regeneration.

Introduction: In human placental development, the trophectoderm (TE) appears in blastocysts on day 5 post-fertilization and develops after implantation into three types of trophoblast lineages: cytotrophoblast (CT), syncytiotrophoblast (ST), and extravillous trophoblast (EVT). CDX2/Cdx2 is expressed in the TE, and Cdx2 expression is upregulated by knockdown of Foxo1 in mouse ESCs. However, the significance of FOXO1 in trophoblast lineage differentiation during the early developmental period remains unclear.

Ion-transfer reactions of alkyl and perfluoroalkyl carboxylate ions (CH(CH)COO with n = 8-12 and CF(CF)COO with n = 3-9) were investigated at the polarized Cl-(CH)-Cl with m = 2, 4, 6, and 8 (O) | water (W) interface to evaluate the effects of n and m on the solvation energy of the ions, as well as on their methylene and terminal groups. These ions exhibited reversible or quasi-reversible voltammetric waves due to their transfer across the O | W interfaces, enabling the determination of formal potentials and formal Gibbs transfer energies from O to W, . The values for CH(CH)COO and CF(CF)COO increased linearly with n, allowing the estimation of for methylene and difluoromethylene groups, (CH) and (CF), and for their terminal groups, (COO  + CH) and (COO + CF).

Senescence plays a key role in various physiological and pathological processes. We reported that injury-induced transient senescence correlates with heart regeneration, yet the multi-omics profile and molecular underpinnings of regenerative senescence remain obscure. Using proteomics and single-cell RNA sequencing, here we report the regenerative senescence multi-omic signature in the adult mouse heart and establish its role in neonatal heart regeneration and agrin-mediated cardiac repair in adult mice.
