Introduction: In 2015, the Army Office of the Surgeon General adapted a Veterans Health Administration course for health care teams to implement holistic health practices to improve the resiliency of health care teams and patient care. The Army course Move to Health was piloted in health care teams at 8 military clinics. During the 20-hour course, health care teams learned techniques to improve their resiliency and created action plans to incorporate holistic health into the workplace, a known factor in decreasing burnout.

Introduction: Gathering end-user feedback about candidate technologies in the operational environment prior to fielding helps to ensure that far-forward medical teams receive the most suitable technology. It is therefore a crucial step in the defense medical acquisition process. The current article reviews the methodology and provides an illustrative example of how end-user feedback was collected to evaluate the current suitability and future promise of two FDA-approved devices, the BrainScope One and Infrascanner 2000, that could potentially aid in the field evaluation of head injuries by far-forward medical teams.

Overutilization of antibiotics has been linked to increased multidrug-resistant organisms in combat-injured patients. Antimicrobial stewardship efforts at deployed medical treatment facilities have been intermittently reported; however; a comprehensive assessment of antimicrobial stewardship practices has not been performed.

In an effort to create a healthy nursing work environment in a military hospital Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a facility-level Evidence Based Practice working group composed of nursing.Stakeholders brainstormed and piloted several unit-level evidence-based leadership initiatives to improve the IMCU nursing work environment. These initiatives were guided by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environments which encompass: (1) skilled communication, (2) true collaboration, (3) effective decision making, (4) appropriate staffing, (5) meaningful recognition, and (6) authentic leadership.

The Army Nurse Corps (ANC) life cycle model outlines major milestones that are required, expected, or recommended to be achieved to prepare Army Nurses to become senior leaders. Army nurses must be prepared to function in uncertain future full spectrum operational environment.
