Patients diagnosed clinically as having grade II dengue haemorrhagic fever, and confirmed serologically to have been recently infected by dengue virus were randomly assigned to two groups, to assess suppression of plasma leakage by intravenous administration of carbazochrome sodium sulfonate(AC-17). The double-blind prospective study over three successive epidemic periods included 39 patients in the placebo group, and 38 in the AC-17 group. The effects of the administration were evaluated with respect to pleural effusion of the chest X-ray films.

Four cases of multifocal osteomyelitis of unknown origin in childhood are reported. The variable clinical and radiographic appearances of the disease are illustrated and the diagnostic difficulties in the early stages of the disease are stressed.

Ten cases of primary bone tumours in infants (1 osteosarcoma, 3 Ewing's sarcoma, 1 chondroblastoma and 5 angiomatosis) are reported. All cases of angiomatosis showed characteristic radiographic findings. In all the other tumours the X-ray appearances were different from those usually seen in older children and adolescents.

Sixteen cases of mandibular tumors or paramandibular soft tissue tumors with mandibular involvement are reported. These include such rare mandibular tumors or tumor-like conditions as melanotic progonoma, intraosseous haematoma secondary to von Willebrand's disease, post-irradiation osteosarcoma, monostotic eosinophilic granuloma, aneurysmal bone cyst and osseous hemangiopericytoma. Three cases of cherubism, one of fibrous dysplasia or aggressive fibromatosis and one of central giant cell reparative granuloma are also reported.
