Ovarian serous carcinoma is a gynecological malignancy associated with a high mortality rate, which is commonly diagnosed in the first instance at a late stage and has a propensity to develop resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy. Identifying reliable biomarkers for platinum sensitivity is critical for improving patient outcomes. The present retrospective study included 64 patients with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stages III or IV).

We evaluated the prognostic impact of pre-treatment albumin-bilirubin grade in patients receiving pembrolizumab for metastatic urothelial carcinoma.
Methods: In this multicenter retrospective study, we calculated pre-treatment albumin-bilirubin scores of 96 patients who received pembrolizumab for metastatic urothelial carcinoma between January 2018 and March 2022.
Herein, we report the case of a 67-year-old man with severe coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pneumonia and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mRNA vaccine breakthrough infection during immunosuppressive therapy for connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). The patient received glucocorticoids combined with tacrolimus as maintenance therapy. His serum anti-SARS-CoV-2-immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody levels were extremely low at the onset of COVID-19 pneumonia, even after the second dose of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine (BNT162b2).

Parenteral pulmonary vasodilators carry a risk of infection and reduced quality of life owing to long-term central venous catheterization; therefore, it is preferable to switch them to oral vasodilators after surgery. Here, we present the case of a patient with systemic sclerosis complicated by pulmonary hypertension and colon cancer, for which treatment was successfully switched from epoprostenol to selexipag postoperatively.

To explore the role of the GM in lupus nephritis, we colonized NZM2410 mice with Segmented Filamentous Bacteria (SFB). Gut colonization with SFB was associated with worsening glomerulonephritis, glomerular and tubular immune complex deposition and interstitial inflammation compared to NZM2410 mice free of SFB.

In the oxidation of cycloalkanes, Ni (TPA) acts as an efficient catalyst with a high yield and a high alcohol selectivity. In the oxidation of adamantane, the tertiary carbon is predominantly oxidized.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the differences in prognosis and prognostic factors between elderly and younger patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. A total of 114 patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage I-IV ovarian cancer who were initiated on primary treatment at the Osaka City University Hospital (Osaka, Japan) were included in this study.

Despite the high response rate for chemotherapy, the majority of patients will be resistant to first-line agents and the prognosis for these patients is particularly poor. Currently there are no reliable methods to determine or predict platinum resistance.

HMGB1's function is in part determined by the complexes (HMGB1c) it forms with other molecules. However, structural modifications in the HMGB1 polypeptide that may regulate HMGB1c formation have not been previously described.

Successful neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) may reduce tumor size and facilitate a hysterectomy, thereby improving the prognosis for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. In contrast, unsuccessful NAC may worsen the prognosis because if a hysterectomy is not possible, the change in treatment plan may delay the initiation of core treatment.

MSCs have been shown to possess immunosuppressive capacity through inhibiting lymphocyte activation/proliferation and proinflammatory cytokine secretion while simultaneously demonstrating limited allogenic reactivity, which subsequently led to the evaluation of therapeutic feasibility to treat inflammatory diseases. Although regulatory constraints have restricted MSC development pharmacologically, limited clinical studies have shown encouraging results using MSC infusions to treat systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE); but, more trials will have to be performed to conclusively determine the clinical efficacy of MSCs to treat SLE.

It is important to identify markers that are able to predict whether NAC may be successful. Epidermal growth factor-like domain 7 (EGFL7) regulates vascular sprouting in blood vessel formation.

As the patient had progressive peripheral neuropathy including foot drop, we intended to treat her with intensive immunosuppressive therapy as soon as possible. Pretreatment assessment, however, revealed multiple nodular lesions in the lungs and bones, suggesting disseminated tumor metastasis or miliary tuberculosis.

Symptoms include mood, behavior and personality irregularities that resemble acute psychosis. The present study reports the rare case of a patient with anti-NMDAR encephalitis and severe neurological symptoms, that exhibited a rapid recovery following a laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy.
