Objective: To predict sac enlargement with type II endoleak (ELII) before endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) using four dimensional flow sensitive magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI).

Methods: A single centre retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data was conducted. Patients with an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) who underwent EVAR between 2013 and 2019 were included.

Methods: The data from three double-blind, randomized, controlled trials comparing lurasidone versus placebo in patients with acute exacerbation of schizophrenia were analyzed. Symptom severity was assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total and the Clinical Global Impression-Severity scale (CGI-S) scores.

Purpose: Wasabi is a traditional plant seasoning with an anti-septic function. Recent studies revealed several functions of Wasabi, such as anti-inflammation; however, the anti-tumor effect against endometrial carcinoma (EMC) cells has not been examined. In the present study, we investigated the anti-tumor effect of 6-(methylsulfinyl) hexyl isothiocyanate (6-MITC), a major chemical compound of Wasabi, against various EMC cell lines in vitro and in vivo.

During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the influenza virus had a very low prevalence, and in many areas, outbreaks were almost non-existent. In this study, the associations between infection control measures taken for COVID-19 and the global disappearance of the influenza virus were investigated. The detection rate of influenza from baseline was investigated during four seasons (12 weeks from epidemiological week 49 in 2020 and 2021 and 12 weeks from epidemiological week 23 in 2020 and 2021) in each country participating in the surveillance system of the World Health Organization.

Fabrication Scaffold with High Dimensional Control for Spheroids with Undifferentiated iPS Cell Properties.

Spheroids are expected to aid the establishment of an in vitro-based cell culture system that can realistically reproduce cellular dynamics in vivo. We developed a fluoropolymer scaffold with an extracellular matrix (ECM) dot array and confirmed the possibility of mass-producing spheroids with uniform dimensions. Controlling the quality of ECM dots is important as it ensures spheroid uniformity, but issues such as pattern deviation and ECM drying persist in the conventional microstamping method.

We herein report a 68-year-old Japanese man with sporadic variant transthyretin (ATTRv) amyloidosis harboring the novel variant A97D (p.A117D) in TTR. He had slow development of asymmetric neuropathy, unintentional weight loss, mild autonomic failure and mild cardiomyopathy.

[Methods for Recovering Residual Anticancer Drugs in Medical Settings to Improve Working Environments].

We examined the methods for recovering residual anticancer drugs in medical settings to prevent health hazards caused by exposure to anticancer drugs. Presently, the lactose hydrate recovery rates(Lac, an alternative sample for an anticancer drug)were determined using 2 drug recovery methods that are based on a procedure manual(procedure manual method) and smart remote support(remote support method). Using the procedure manual method, 5 healthcare workers recovered Lac after receiving a detailed face-to-face methodological explanation.

Background And Objectives: Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) have overlapping clinical considerations, which frequently involve peripheral neuropathy. The current study aimed to discriminate between the clinicopathological features of HES and EGPA, focusing on the mechanism of peripheral nerve damage.

Methods: A total of 53 patients who underwent nerve biopsies at our laboratory were examined: nine patients with idiopathic HES (iHES), three patients with reactive HES, 14 patients with myeloperoxidase-anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-positive EGPA, and 27 patients with negative EGPA.
