Background: We previously demonstrated that hsa-miR-520d-5p can convert cancer cells into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) or mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) via a demethylation process and p53 upregulation in vivo. Additionally, we have reported the non-tumorigenic effect of miR-520d-5p on normal human cells, including fibroblasts.

Methods: We used atelocollagen-conjugated miR-520d-5p (520d/atelocollagen) to confirm the possibility of a therapeutic effect on cancer cells.

Background And Aims: In hemostasis for colonic diverticular bleeding, the incidence of recurrent bleeding is higher in deep colonic diverticulum than in shallow. We aimed to improve and evaluate barium impaction therapy using an enteroscopic overtube with balloon.

Patients And Method: We performed barium impaction therapy in three patients with a diagnosis of deep colonic diverticular bleeding.

Aim: To evaluate whether an endoscopy position detecting unit (UPD-3) can improve cecal intubation rates, cecal intubation times and visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores, regardless of the colonoscopist's level of experience.

Methods: A total of 260 patients (170 men and 90 women) who underwent a colonoscopy were divided into the UPD-3-guided group or the conventional group (no UPD-3 guidance). Colonoscopies were performed by experts (experience of more than 1000 colonoscopies) or trainees (experience of less than 100 colonoscopies).

Surgery was advised due to the repeated episodes; however, the patient refused.

Background: Propofol is rapidly increasing in use in many countries because endoscopists and patients report greater satisfaction with propofol than with conventional sedatives. However, propofol infusion during lengthy endoscopic procedures in elderly patients is still controversial. We investigated the safety of gastroenterologist-guided propofol sedation in elderly patients who underwent gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) at a single center.
