Associations between Autistic-like Traits and Imagery Ability.

This article examines empirical associations between qualities of the imagination, mental imagery, and cognitive abilities with special reference to autism. This study is the first to explore the empirical relationships between autistic-like traits and tests of imagery differences. Imaginative impairments and distinctive sensory characteristics in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) should be reflected in their interactions with mental imagery.

Spatial and nonspatial working memory and visual search.

It has been indicated that visual search is interfered with in spatial working memory (WM), although not in nonspatial WM. In this study, the effects on visual search of individual differences in spatial and nonspatial WM were examined. Two visual search conditions were used: a conjunction search condition comprising two features (color and shape) and a disjunction condition comprising only one feature (color or shape).

Intraorbital encephalocele in an adult patient presenting with pulsatile exophthalmos. Case report.

A 25-year-old man presented with an intraorbital encephalocele manifesting as progressive left pulsatile exophthalmos. He had a history of frontal lobe contusion from a motorbike accident 10 years before the onset of the symptom. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed an oval-shaped defect in the left orbital roof with an underlying intracranial cystic lesion, herniated into the orbit.

Importance of neuropsychological evaluation after surgery in patients with unruptured cerebral aneurysms.

Background: We evaluated neuropsychological function before and after surgery in patients with unruptured cerebral aneurysms.

Methods: Neuropsychological functions in 43 patients with unruptured cerebral aneurysms were evaluated before and 1 month after surgery. The neuropsychological examination included the Mini-Mental State examination, "Kana-hiroi" test, Kohs Block Design test, and Miyake's Memory test.
