Background: Type 2 autoimmune pancreatitis is characterized by multiple or segmental strictures of the main pancreatic duct without upstream dilatation. We encountered a case of mass-forming type 2 autoimmune pancreatitis with upstream main pancreatic duct dilatation that was difficult to diagnose preoperatively using endoscopic ultrasound sonography-guided fine-needle aspiration cytology.
Case Presentation: A 58-year-old Japanese man presented with recurrent acute pancreatitis secondary to a 10-mm pancreatic head tumor.

Background: Colorectal cancer is a major global health burden, with surgical resection being the standard treatment aimed at curative tumor removal. We present two case reports of women with estrogen-receptor (ER)-positive cancer of the breast who were vaccinated for COVID-19 in the deltoid muscle. [F]FDG positron emission tomography (PET) demonstrated primary breast cancer and multiple axillary lymph nodes with increased [F]FDG uptake, diagnosed as vaccine-associated [F]FDG-avid lymph nodes.

Methods: We reviewed 609,589 cases recorded in 2019 and 5,029,764 cases registered from 2011 to 2019 for the 115 selected gastroenterological surgical procedures.
Results: The main features of gastroenterological surgery in Japan were similar to those described in the 2018 annual report, namely, that 1) operative numbers gradually increased in all procedures, except gastrectomy and hepatectomy, which decreased in these years; 2) in all eight major gastroenterological surgeries, the age distribution tended toward older patients; 3) the morbidity of esophagectomy, hepatectomy, and pancreaticoduodenectomy increased, but mortality was minimized in all procedures; 4) all eight major gastroenterological procedures have increasingly been performed under laparoscopy; and 5) board-certified surgeons were increasingly involved.
Cryopreservation of pancreatic islets enables their long-term storage and subsequent transplantation; however, post-cryopreservation, islets viability, and functions are reduced to a significant extent. Islet is composed of five cells (α cell, β cell, δ cell, ε cell, and PP cell), and blood vessels that carry the nutrition. Freezing technology of the organization has not developed a good method.
