The patient is a 35-year-old man who had a medical history of epilepsy in childhood. He came to our hospital because of transient disturbance of consciousness and left hemiplegia just after evacuation. At first, we thought that he had epilepsy with Todd's palsy.

A 28-year-old man with a history of myotonic dystrophy (MyD) is described. His progressively worsening excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) was treated with methylphenidate hydrochloride. Polysomonography (PSG), the multiple sleep latency test (MSLT), middle latency-evoked response, and auditory event-related potentials were used to assess the cause of EDS.
