To Evaluate the Efficiency of Dexmedetomidine in Atomized Intranasal form for Sedation in Minor Oral Surgical Procedures.

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of dexmedetomidine in atomized intranasal form for sedation in minor oral surgical procedures.

Materials And Methods: A total 25 patients fitting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected from the outpatient Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Saraswati Dental College and Hospital, Lucknow. The drug was administered intranasally half an hour before the surgical procedure.

The Safety and Effectiveness of Superficial Cervical Plexus Block in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as an Alternative to General Anesthesia in Selective Cases: A Clinical Study.

Aim: To assess the safety and effectiveness of superficial cervical plexus (SCP) block in oral and maxillofacial surgical (OMFS) practice as an alternative to general anesthesia in selective cases.

Subjects And Methods: The total number of patients was 10, out of which 6 were male and 4 were female patients. Five patients had incision and drainage of perimandibular space infections, two patients had enucleation of cyst in the body of mandible, one patient had open reduction and internal fixation isolated angle fracture, and two patients had submandibular lymph node biopsies.

Unilateral Subcondylar and Condylar Neck Fractures: Randomized Clinical Study.

Aims And Objectives: The aim of the present study was to compare closed treatment with open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) for subcondylar and condylar neck fractures.

Materials And Methods: This randomized prospective study was conducted on thirty patients who visited the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Government Dental College, Srinagar, with condylar fractures. All fractures were displaced; either angulated between 10° and 45° and the ascending ramus was shortened by >2 mm to <15 mm.

Multiple Dentigerous Cysts as a Rare Presentation of Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome.

Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome is one of the genetic disorders involving disturbances in mucopolysaccaride metabolism, due to deficiency of aryl sulfatase-B which leads to accumulation of dermatan sulfate in tissues and their excretion in urine. The diseases has several oral and dental manifestations, is first diagnosed on the basis of clinical findings. It is characterized by coarse facial features, normal intelligence, organomegaly, enlarged head, short neck, corneal clouding, enlarged tongue, and prominent metachromatic inclusions in leukocytes.

Use of autologous platelet-rich fibrin in osseous regeneration after cystic enucleation: A clinical study.

Aims And Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of PRF in osseous regeneration after enucleation of cystic lesions. The objectives of this study were as follows: (1) to evaluate osseous regeneration radiographically with the use of PRF in intrabony defects after cystic enucleation. (2) To evaluate the degree of bone density in intrabony defects with the use of PRF postoperatively after 1st, 3rd, and 6th months.
