Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how the rate of weight gain (WGR) from ages 4 to 6 months affects the nutritional status and body composition of children aged 4 to 7 years.
  • The research involved a retrospective cohort of 257 children, analyzing their early weight gain history and conducting measurements related to their current weight, height, and fat composition.
  • Results indicated that a higher WGR during the first few months of life correlates with increased BMI, body fat, and waist circumference later in childhood, suggesting early weight gain can influence long-term health outcomes.*
