An investigation of child health in relation to housing renovations for a disadvantaged immigrant population in Malmö, Sweden.

Aims: The aim of the study was to describe child health in relation to housing renovations in more than 800 rental units, consisting of repairs of dilapidated kitchens and bathrooms, in the disadvantaged neighbourhood of Herrgården in Rosengård, Malmö, Sweden.

Methods: Data on housing conditions and self-reported health were collected during home visits to families living in Herrgården (building renovations area) and a comparison area (neighbouring Törnrosen, with generally better housing conditions). At baseline, 130 families with 359 children participated, while 51 families with 127 children participated at follow-up.

Coverage and predictors of vaccination among children of 1-4 years of age in a rural sub-district of Sindh.

Objective: To estimate the proportion of children 1-4 years of age vaccinated in the first year of their life and determine socio-demographic factors associated with vaccination in the rural sub-district Khairpur, Sindh, Pakistan.

Study Design: Cross-sectional study.

Place And Duration Of Study: The study was conducted in 9 Union Councils of sub-district Gambat, district Khairpur, Sindh, from August to October 2008.

Non-fatal limb injuries in motorbike accidents.

Objective: To determine frequency and pattern of non-fatal limb injuries in motorbike accidents victims.

Study Design: Cross-sectional observational study.

Place And Duration Of Study: Study was conducted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi, from October 2006 to March 2007.
