Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the incidence of hypoglycaemia among insulin-treated patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) cohort of the non-interventional International Operations-Hypoglycaemia Assessment Tool study.
Methods: This cross-sectional observational study took place at 25 patient care centres in the UAE from October 2014 to May 2015. All adult patients with T1DM or T2DM who had been treated with insulin for >12 months were included.

Materials And Methods: Cross-sectional study of diabetic patients who visited the endocrinology department of a private multi-specialty hospital in United Arab Emirates between April 2015 and January 2017 who underwent UWF fundus imaging. Fundus pictures are then accessed at the Retina Clinic in the Department of Ophthalmology.
Little is known about the interaction of biosurfactants with bacterial cells. Recent work in the area of biodegradation suggests that there are two mechanisms by which biosurfactants enhance the biodegradation of slightly soluble organic compounds. First, biosurfactants can solubilize hydrophobic compounds within micelle structures, effectively increasing the apparent aqueous solubility of the organic compound and its availability for uptake by a cell.

The insertional mutation of this fabG homolog (herein called rhlG) produced no apparent effect on the growth rate and total lipid content of P. aeruginosa cells, but the production of rhamnolipids was completely abrogated.

A generalized drop length-height method is introduced here for the determination of contact angle in the drop-on-fiber systems. This method overcomes some of the difficulties encountered in the practice by applying the common maximum drop length-height method to determine the contact angle. Furthermore, with this new generalized method a large part of a drop profile can be used in the calculation, which reduces the statistical error of the determination and improves the reliability and accuracy of the obtained results.

Frozen plasma from which the cryo-precipitated fraction has been removed (cryopoor plasma, CP) has reportedly been useful in refractory cases in which a response to FP is not being observed. We report a retrospective analysis of all cases of TTP treated by TPE with either FP (1985-1989) or CP (1989-1993) as exchange fluid at a large tertiary care hospital between the years 1985 and 1993.
