The study examines public health initiatives addressing anti-Black racism (ABR) in North America from December 2019 to June 2022, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and increased awareness of racism in health and social systems.
Seventy-five articles were reviewed, revealing that structural ABR strategies were the most common initiatives, along with other measures like programs, budget allocations, and legislation.
A significant gap in the literature was found regarding community participation and the effectiveness of these initiatives, raising concerns about accountability to affected communities.
