Objective: Patients with sellar lesions compressing the optic nerve sometimes perceive visual improvement after lesion resection, despite the absence of visual impairment on preoperative ophthalmological examination. Mesothelin (MSLN) is expressed in the mesothelium in normal tissues but is overexpressed in various malignant tumors. In this study, we searched for genes that were more frequently expressed in cases of endometrioid carcinoma (EC) with the MELF (microcystic, elongated, and fragmented) pattern using laser microdissection and RNA sequencing, and found that MSLN was predominantly expressed in cases with the MELF pattern. A highly sensitive method is proposed for obtaining the Raman spectra of low-concentration proteins and nucleic acids in an aqueous solution using liquid-liquid phase separation. This method uses water droplets formed by adding a large amount of polyethylene glycol into a biomolecular aqueous solution. The P53-destabilizing TBC1D15-NOTCH protein interaction promotes self-renewal of tumor-initiating stem-like cells (TICs); however, the mechanisms governing the regulation of this pathway have not been fully elucidated. Here, we show that TBC1D15 stabilizes NOTCH and c-JUN through blockade of E3 ligase and CDK8 recruitment to phosphodegron sequences. The cluster of differentiation 155 (CD155) is highly expressed on tumor cells and augments or inhibits the cytotoxic activities of natural killer (NK) cells and T cells through its receptor ligands DNAX accessory molecule 1 (DNAM-1) and T-cell immunoglobulin (Ig) and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif domain (TIGIT), respectively. Although CD155 is heavily glycosylated, the role of glycosylation of CD155 in the cytotoxic activity of effector lymphocytes remains unknown. Here, we show that the N-linked glycosylation at residue 105 (N105 glycosylation) in the first Ig-like domain of CD155 is involved in the binding of CD155 to both DNAM-1 and TIGIT.

Background: Follicular tumors include follicular thyroid adenomas and carcinomas; however, it is difficult to distinguish between the two when the cytology or biopsy material is obtained from a portion of the tumor. The presence or absence of invasion in the resected material is used to differentiate between adenomas and carcinomas, which often results in the unnecessary removal of the adenomas. If nodules that may be follicular thyroid carcinomas are identified preoperatively, active surveillance of other nodules as adenomas is possible, which reduces the risk of surgical complications and the expenses incurred during medical treatment.
