To evaluate the use of noncontrast-enhanced coronary magnetic resonance angiography (NC-CMRA) for long-term follow-up in patients with Kawasaki disease (KD). In total, 40 (77 aneurysms) patients with KD who underwent NC-CMRA were retrospectively analyzed. Coronary artery aneurysms and dilations observed during the acute phase were classified into three groups according to their diameter based on the American Heart Association criteria.

However, treatment options for ITP in pregnancy are limited, and there are few animal models available for the establishment of treatments. Here, we aimed to establish a novel murine pregnant model of ITP and to investigate the impacts of thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA) on platelet production and reproductive outcomes.

Background: Preeclampsia (PE) is a condition in pregnancy characterized by hypertension and proteinuria, thus leading to severe complications for both mother and fetus, including fetal growth restriction (FGR). However, there are still unclear aspects regarding the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatments. This study aimed to elucidate the characteristics of lipid metabolism in maternal and umbilical cord plasma complicated with PE using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

We investigated how acute kidney injury (AKI), a major dose-limiting toxicity effect of cisplatin, affects overall survival (OS).
Methods: We analyzed 251 patients from JCOG1008 receiving chemoradiotherapy.
Background: The previous Japanese clinical practice guidelines for multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) were published in 2017. Recently, for the first time in 6 years, the MS and NMOSD guideline development committee revised the Japanese guidelines for MS, NMOSD, and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).
Methods: The committee utilized the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation system based on the "Minds Handbook for Clinical Practice Guideline Development 2020 Ver.
Background: Treatment options for patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) who experience disease progression on lenvatinib treatment are limited. Although dose escalation of treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors at disease progression has been reported across cancer types, clinical significance in patients with DTC has not been investigated.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with DTC who experienced disease progression on lenvatinib treatment from September 2011 to June 2022.
Background: The significance of induction chemotherapy (IC) in the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) with unresectable locoregional recurrence after curative surgery has not been clarified. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of IC followed by chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in these patients.
Methods: Among patients with unresectable locoregional recurrent SCCHN who had not undergone prior irradiation and were eligible for cisplatin, we conducted a retrospective analysis of patients who received CRT following IC with paclitaxel, carboplatin, or cetuximab (IC-PCE group) and those who received CRT without prior IC (CRT group) between June 2013 and August 2021.
Henna is a plant-based dye obtained from the powdered leaf of the pigmented plant Lawsonia inermis, and has often been used for grey hair dyeing, treatment, and body painting. As a henna product, the leaves of Indigofera tinctoria and Cassia auriculata can be blended to produce different colour variations. Although allergy from henna products attributed to p-phenylenediamine, which is added to enhance the dye, is reported occasionally, raw material plants of henna products could also contribute to the allergy.

Due to its rarity, standard systemic therapy for this condition has yet to be established. In particular, the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for the recurrent or metastatic (R/M) ONB population remains unclear.

We developed a risk prediction model for cisplatin-induced AKI in patients with postoperative high-risk head and neck cancer who received chemoradiotherapy during a randomized phase II/III trial, JCOG1008.
Materials And Methods: Two hundred and fifty-one patients received radiotherapy with weekly cisplatin at 40 mg/m (weekly arm) or 3-weekly cisplatin at 100 mg/m (3-weekly arm).
Mononegaviruses are promising tools as oncolytic and transgene vectors for gene therapy and regenerative medicine. However, when mononegaviruses are used for therapeutic applications, the viral activity must be strictly controlled due to concerns about toxicity and severe side effects. With this technology, mononegavirus vectors can be grown where they are intended and can be easily removed when they are no longer needed.

Identification of risk factors for LNM in T2 CRC may help identify patients who are at low risk and thereby potential candidates for endoscopic full-thickness resection. We examined risk factors for LNM in T2 CRC with the goal of establishing further criteria of the indications for endoscopic resection.

Here, we report long-term outcomes from this cohort.
Methods: CheckMate 358 was a phase 1-2, open-label, multicohort trial.
Background: Despite multimodal therapy, 5-year overall survival for locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is about 50%. We assessed the addition of pembrolizumab to concurrent chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced HNSCC.
Methods: In the randomised, double-blind, phase 3 KEYNOTE-412 trial, participants with newly diagnosed, high-risk, unresected locally advanced HNSCC from 130 medical centres globally were randomly assigned (1:1) to pembrolizumab (200 mg) plus chemoradiotherapy or placebo plus chemoradiotherapy.
In Japan, the use of frame retardants [tris(2,3-dibromopropyl)phosphate: TDBPP and bis(2,3-dibromopropyl)phosphate: BDBPP] in several household textile products is banned under the "Act on the Control of Household Products Containing Harmful Substances." As the official analytical methods for testing these substances have not been revised for over 42 years, several issues such as the using of harmful reagents, have been pointed out. Therefore, we developed a new method to revise the official method in our previous study.

For postoperative patients at high risk of recurrence, however, surgery by itself is not enough, and improvement in survival requires postoperative treatment. Unlike the case with most other malignancies, the standard postoperative treatment for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck patients with high-risk factors for recurrence is radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy with cisplatin.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmunological testing to detect neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) is important in measles (MV) infection control. Currently, the plaque reduction neutralization test is the only credible method for measuring actual virus NAbs; however, its feasibility is hampered by drawbacks, such as long turnaround times, low throughput, and the need for laboratory biosafety equipment. To solve these problems, we developed a simple and rapid MV-NAb detection system using lentivirus-based virus-like particles incorporated with the NanoLuc fragment peptide HiBiT comprising the MV fusion protein and hemagglutinin on their exterior surface.
