Cancer sparks if the components of the cellular signaling network are aberrantly activated, leading to uncontrolled cell growth and proliferation. One of the most important players of this highly regulated network is the Wnt/β-catenin signaling, with a significant role in human health and disease. The critical co-receptor of this pathway, LRP6, is overexpressed in various cancer types and is a target for therapy.

To minimize ochratoxin A (OTA) content and yeast and mold content (YMC) in raisins with favorable physicochemical and sensory properties, the response surface methodology (RSM) and the face-centered central composite design (FCCD) were utilized.

Considering the critical role of the HCA II and the effects of some mutations on the activity and stability of the enzyme in humans, several computational methods are used to study the structure and dynamics of the wild-type and the mutant enzymes with three ligands, CO, 4-nitrophenyl acetate and acetazolamide. Our results of MD simulation of a wild-type enzyme with 4-nitrophenyl acetate show that it created essential effects on the fluctuation of this enzyme and made it more unstable and less compact than the same enzyme without ligand.

Therefore, we performed this study to explore the association between a low-carbohydrate diet and insulin indices and the odds of colorectal cancer.
Method: This hospital-based case-control study was conducted on 150 newly diagnosed colorectal cancer patients and 300 healthy age- and sex-matched hospitalized controls.
The present study aimed to assess the association between diet quality and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) predictor indices in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS). This cross-sectional study was carried out among 344 adult patients with MetS. The diet quality of patients was calculated by Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015).

The HIV-1 protease is an important target for the development of therapies to treat AIDS, due to its critical role in the viral life cycle. We investigated several dynamics studies on the HIV-1 protease families to illustrate the significance of examining the dynamic behaviors and molecular motions for an entire understanding of their dynamics-structure-function relationships.

Pollutants such as heavy metals have directly affected the health of society and contributed to emerging diseases in recent years. The current study aimed to detect heavy metals (Pb, Cd, As) in highly consumed leafy vegetables provided from the Tehran market.

Due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, ellagic acid has the potential to improve the metabolic effects of chronic non-communicable diseases. This systematic review summarizes current evidence about the potential effects of ellagic acid on metabolic variables in diabetes mellitus.

The Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015) is one of the most common measures used to assess overall nutritional quality. This research aimed to identify the relationship between the HEI-2015 score and disease severity in hospitalised military patients with COVID-19.

Evidence suggested that intake of curcumin and coenzyme Q10 may have therapeutic effects in the management of MetS.
Aims: We investigated the effects of curcumin and/or coenzyme Q10 supplementation on metabolic syndrome components including systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), waist circumference (WC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) as primary outcomes, and total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c) and body mass index (BMI) as secondary outcomes in subjects with MetS.
Background & Aim: Whey protein (WP) is one of the well-known dairy driven products to help people to change their weight and body composition (BC). This study aimed to investigate the effect of WP on weight and BC on every published RCT on all populations.
Methods: A systematic review of the literature was undertaken to identify RCTs that examined the effect of WP on weight, body fat, lean body mass, fat-free mass, and waist circumference.

The simulated liposome models provide events in molecular biological science and cellular biology. These models may help to understand the cell membrane mechanisms, biological cell interactions, and drug delivery systems. In addition, the liposomes model may resolve specific issues such as membrane transports, ion channels, drug penetration in the membrane, vesicle formation, membrane fusion, and membrane protein function mechanism.
