Remote and van der Waals epitaxy are promising approaches for synthesizing single crystalline membranes for flexible electronics and discovery of new properties via extreme strain; however, a fundamental challenge is that most materials do not wet the graphene surface. We develop a cold seed approach for synthesizing smooth intermetallic films on graphene that can be exfoliated to form few nanometer thick single crystalline membranes. Our seeded GdAuGe films have narrow X-ray rocking curve widths of 9-24 arc seconds, which is 2 orders of magnitude lower than their counterparts grown by typical high temperature methods, and have atomically sharp interfaces observed by transmission electron microscopy.

We investigated the impact of imbalanced diets on colonic microbiota, concentrations of short chain fatty acid in colonic digesta and serum immunoglobulins (Igs) of growing rats. Compared to the control diet, consuming diets high in fat, sucrose, or processed meat, or low in iron, increased the abundance of the pathogenic bacteria such as Clostridium, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella species, and decreased the beneficial bacteria, like Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus, Akkermansia, Phascolarctobacterium, Alistipes, and butyrate producing species of bacteria in the colon of growing rats.

It turned out that charge trapping in the gate stack of FeFET (versus polarization switching in the gate stack of FeFET) adversely affects Δ. Charge trapping causes the positive Δ, while polarization switching causes the negative Δ.

The film morphology and hydrophobicity are found to strongly depend on the structure of the reagent hydrocarbon. The films deposited with n-hexane and cyclohexane exhibited relatively smooth morphology and the water contact angle was only ∼95°, similar to polypropylene.
