Some autoimmune disorders, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), are associated with the development of ONFH. Complement receptor type 2 (CR2) is membrane glycoprotein which binds C3 degradation products generated during complement activation.

Intraductal brush cytology is a convenient and safe method that is used for the diagnosis of biliary stricture, but, low sensitivity limits its usefulness. This study aimed to demonstrate the usefulness of mRNA expression levels of target genes in brush cytology specimens combined with cytology for the diagnosis of malignant biliary stricture.

Methods: RAMS was composed of a room laser sensing array (RLSA), an electric circuit, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a control PC.

Background: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is an alternative to surgical resection for treating early gastric cancer (EGC). However, there have been limited reports on the long-term outcome of ESD compared to that of surgical resection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the immediate and long-term clinical and oncologic outcomes of ESD compared to surgical resection.

Inhibition of osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption is a therapeutic strategy for the management of postmenopausal bone loss. This study investigated the effects of Rhus javanica (R. javanica) extracts on bone marrow cultures to develop agents from natural sources that may prevent osteoclastogenesis.

Background: The resistance of Helicobacter pylori to antibiotics has increased the need for new empirical, first-line treatments. However, the efficacy of sequential therapy (ST) and concomitant therapy (CT) compared with triple therapy (TT) has not been adequately evaluated.
Aim: In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of these empirical three regimens.

Background: In patients with peptic ulcer bleeding (PUB), diagnostic tests for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection have low sensitivity. The aim of our study was to investigate the diagnostic yield of dual-priming oligonucleotide-based multiplex (DPO)-PCR using tissue samples from the rapid urease test (RUT, CLO(®)test) kit in patients with PUB.

[Subjects and Methods] Study subjects were 20 male and 10 female adults in their 20s without lumbar pain, who were equally and randomly assigned to either the abdominal drawing-in maneuver group and the lumbar stabilization exercise group. Abdominal muscle activation and ratio was measured using a wireless TeleMyo DTS during right leg raise exercises while sitting on a Swiss ball.

[Subjects and Methods] Twenty healthy male university students were divided randomly into inspiration-oriented and expiration-oriented breathing groups. Their pulmonary function and chest size during inspiration or expiration were evaluated and then re-evaluated after 15 minutes of breathing exercise five times a week for four weeks.

[Subjects and Methods] The present study was conducted with 18 adults without no history of surgery on the foot or ankle. One group performed both gluteus maximus strengthening exercises and abductor hallucis strengthening exercises, while the other group performed only abductor hallucis strengthening exercises five times per week for four weeks.

[Subjects and Methods] The participants were 20 healthy adults with no present or previous pain, no past history of surgery on the foot or the ankle, and no foot deformities. Ten subjects performed hip external rotator strengthening exercises and TS exercises and the remaining ten subjects performed only TS exercises five times per week for four weeks.

Background: Rice is one of the most important food crops for humans. To improve the agronomical traits of rice, the functions of more than 1,000 rice genes have been recently characterized and summarized. The completed, map-based sequence of the rice genome has significantly accelerated the functional characterization of rice genes, but progress remains limited in assigning functions to all predicted non-transposable element (non-TE) genes, estimated to number 37,000-41,000.

Application of these germ line stem cells could be an alternative therapy for reproductive disorders in regenerative medicine.
Methods: To enhance the potency of differentiation into oocyte-like cells (OLCs) and folliculogenesis, we overexpressed Oct4 in ovarian stem/stromal cell (OvSCs) and examined the cellular properties related to stemness and self-renewal ability and finally demonstrated the ability of in vitro differentiation and folliculogenesis.
[Purpose] To determine the effects of lumbar stabilization exercise with thoracic extension exercise on chronic low back pain patients. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty patients with chronic low back pain were randomly divided into a lumbar stabilization exercise group (group A) and a lumbar stabilization exercise with thoracic extension exercise group (group B). Group B did 15 min of lumbar stabilization exercises and 15 min of thoracic extension exercises, while group A did 30 min of lumbar stabilization exercises five times a week for 4 weeks.

[Subjects and Methods] Among hospitalized stroke patients, 30 were selected based on the study criteria and were randomly divided into three groups: an ankle strategy group (n=10), balance exercise group (n=10), and control group (n=10). Patients in two groups (ankle strategy, balance exercise group) performed 15-minute exercise sessions three times a week for six weeks.

An iron-based metal-organic framework, MIL-101(Fe), promotes photocatalytic water oxidation to produce oxygen from aqueous silver nitrate solution under visible-light irradiation. The finely dispersed iron-oxo clusters embedded as nodes of the porous framework would contribute importantly to the efficient promotion of the reaction as compared to bulk hematite (α-Fe2O3).

Absence of peristalsis and impaired relaxation of lower esophageal sphincter are the hallmarks of achalasia esophagus. Based on the pressurization patterns, achalasia has been subdivided into three subtypes. The goal of our study was to evaluate the esophageal contraction pattern and bolus clearance in type 3 achalasia esophagus.
