Recurrence hernia in the broad ligament of the uterus: a case report.

Background: Bowel herniation through a defect in the broad ligament of the uterus is a rare disease and few cases of recurrence have been reported. We report herein a recurrence case of a patient with broad ligament hernia (BLH), along with a review of the literature.

Background: Vasospastic angina is a rare but potentially life-threatening adverse event (AE) of S1, an oral fluoropyrimidine anticancer agent. We report herein a case of a patient who suffered from vasospastic angina associated with S1 chemotherapy for unresectable gastric adenocarcinoma, along with a review of the literature.

Background: Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is a rare disease characterized by multiple gas-filled cysts in the intestinal wall and is associated with various comorbidities. We report herein a case of intractable paralytic ileus caused by primary PCI.

Severe cellulitis and abdominal wall emphysema following laparoscopic colonic surgery: A case report.

Abdominal wall emphysema is a common complication of laparoscopic surgery. This condition is usually harmless; however, if an infection occurs, it can develop into a serious condition such as necrotizing fasciitis. We report a case of a 51-year-old woman suffering from severe cellulitis that spread from an area of abdominal wall emphysema after laparoscopic surgery for sigmoid colon cancer.

[A case of sigmoid colon cancer in a patient undergoing hemodialysis treated by tegafur/uracil/folinate].

The patient was a 59-year-old man who had undergone hemodialysis because of chronic renal failure. The patient was diagnosed as colonic perforation due to stricture of sigmoid colon cancer, and sigmoidectomy was performed. Since colonic perforation and imperfect lymphnode dissection might increase the risk of recurrence, the patient underwent 6 courses of tegafur/uracil/folinate(UFT/LV)chemotherapy.
