Purpose: This paper analyzes Tomotherapy-based intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (HTSRS) of brain metastasis targeting two end-points: 1) evaluation of dose homogeneity, conformity and gradient scores for single and multiple lesions and 2) assay of dosimetric criticality of completion of HTSRS procedures.
Methods: 42 treatment plans of 33 patients (53 brain lesions) treated with HTSRS were analyzed. Dose to healthy brain, homogeneity, conformity and gradient indexes were evaluated for each lesion.
Purpose: To evaluate the impact of thermoplastic mask immobilization in the setup reproducibility and delivered dose for Helical Tomotherapy (HT) of the breast/chest wall.
Methods: 16 patients treated with Accuray Hi-Art HT for breast-cancer were considered. Patients were positioned supine with arms extended above the head using Civco Wing Board (WB) system.
We analysed 300 patients X rayed with digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), full-field digital mammography (FFDM) and 'COMBO' (single view both in FFDM and DBT in a single breast compression)-Hologic Selenia Dimension-W/Rh-Ag-Al: three different anode-filter combinations-automatic exposure control modalities. Examination parameter data collection (EPDC) and 'in vivo' dosimetry using metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) were utilised to determine and compare entrance skin air kerma (ESAK) and average glandular dose (AGD) from a radioprotection viewpoint in the DBT and COMBO modalities. We analysed our experience on the technical aspects of this innovative approach in terms of identification of breast volume actually to be treated during IORT.
Patients And Methods: A total of 315 patients at low risk of breast cancer recurrence underwent IORT as exclusive treatment after breast-conservative surgery.
Aims And Background: The study focused on the evaluation of the accuracy of intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery treatments delivered with helical tomotherapy by means of the InterFix™ Radiosurgery kit.
Methods And Study Design: Twenty-two patients received stereotactic radiosurgery treatments with single fraction dose ranging from 13 to 20 Gy depending on diagnosis. Megavoltage computed tomography scans performed prior the treatments were analyzed in order to determine the position accuracy.

Background And Purpose: To report our clinical experience in planning and delivering total marrow irradiation (TMI) after total body irradiation (TBI) in patients with relapsed acute leukemia undergoing an allogeneic stem-cell transplant (SCT).
Materials And Methods: Patients received conventional TBI as 2 Gy BID/day for 3 days boosted the next day by TMI (2 Gy in a single fraction) and followed by cyclophosphamide (Cy) 60 mg/kg for 2 days. While TBI was delivered with linear accelerator, TMI was performed with helical tomotherapy (HT).
Purpose: The aim of this work is to present an updated implementation of total skin electron therapy (TSET) using IAEA TRS-398 code of practice for absolute dosimetry and taking advantage of the use of radiochromic films. The optimization of quality control tests is also included.
Methods: A Varian 2100 C/D linear accelerator equipped with the special procedure HDTSe- (high dose rate total skin electron mode, E=6 MeV) was employed to perform TSET irradiations using the modified Stanford technique.
In the authors' hospital, stereotactic radiotherapy treatments are performed with a Varian Clinac 600C equipped with a BrainLAB m3 micro-multileaf-collimator generally using the dynamic conformal arc technique. Patient immobilization during the treatment is achieved with a fixation mask supplied by BrainLAB, made with two reinforced thermoplastic sheets fitting the patient's head. With this work the authors propose a method to evaluate treatment geometric accuracy and, consequently, to determine the amount of the margin to keep in the CTV-PTV expansion during the treatment planning.
