The aim of the study was to evaluate the extent of agreement between the findings of ultrasonography (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the assessment of anterior disc displacement (ADD), with or without reduction, and to assess the sensitivity, specificity and the accuracy of the US examination in establishing diagnosis. Fifty-two temporomandibular joints (TMJ) in 52 patients with chronic TMJ pain were examined by US and MRI with respect to ADD, with, and without reduction of the TMJ. The level of agreement between US and MRI findings was evaluated.

This study examined the effects of vascular bundle implantation into a bone graft. Vascularized and nonvascularized autografts, allografts, and xenografts were placed inside defects in the proximal tibia in rabbits. Evaluation using radiographs, magnetic resonance imaging, bone scintigraphy, and microscopy showed autografts fused more rapidly than allografts and xenografts, and the majority of the vascularized grafts were incorporated completely.

The objective of the study was to determine the effect of the dispersed or nondispersed form of the extruded disk material (EDM) on the neurological status and surgical outcomes in Hansen thoracolumbar intervertebral disk disease Type I (IVDD-I). Medical records of 40 dogs with IVDD-I were reviewed, including neurologic status on admission, findings on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), intraoperative findings, and surgical outcomes. In MRI evaluations, EDM was on the right in 16, on the left in 18, and centrally in 6 cases; in all cases, findings were confirmed by surgery.

Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) is a necrotizing vasculitis involving small and medium-sized arteries and it affects multiple organ systems in the body Central nervous system (CNS) involvement appears less frequently, and usually develops after the disease is established. Although aneurysms are common in visceral arteries in PAN, intracranial aneurysms are uncommon and have been documented rarely. This case is reported to raise awareness among radiologists as it has characteristic and rare, if not specific, imaging findings of CNS involvement of PAN.

Sjögren-Larsson syndrome (SLS) is a rare disorder with autosomal recessive inheritance. Hereditary osteo-onychodysplasia, also known as the nail-patella syndrome (NPS), consists of a clinical tetrad of nail dysplasia, hypoplastic or absent patella, radial head dislocation, and iliac horns. Bilateral posterior iliac horns are observed only in NPS and present in >80% of patients. We describe the appearance, location, and structure of iliac horns by CT, MRI, and 3-dimensional CT reconstruction.

Balo's concentric sclerosis was diagnosed antemortem in 2 patients, by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging showing striking concentric alternating rings in 1 patient and by characteristic histopathological features in the other. The course of the lesions and the concentric pattern were followed by MR imaging for 3 years and 18 months, respectively. One patient demonstrated spontaneous remission that has not been reported in Balo's disease.

Lateral sinus radiograph is helpful in determining the distances between certain anatomic landmarks in preparation for endonasal endoscopic sinus surgery. However, some misleading factors limit the usefulness of this radiograph. In this study these distances were measured in 49 patients and compared with measurements obtained from another imaging modality, magnetic resonance imaging, which provides more accurate measurements.
