We demonstrated that CB1-immunoreactive TRH axons were associated to DAGLα-immunoreactive tanycyte processes in the external zone of ME and showed that endocannabinoids tonically inhibit the TRH release in this tissue. We showed that glutamate depolarizes the tanycytes, increases their intracellular Ca level and the 2-AG level of the ME via AMPA and kainite receptors and glutamate transport.

The Stronach Regional Cancer Centre Lung DAP (at Southlake Regional Health Centre) used learnings from a Lean improvement event to increase capacity to meet patient demand for service and to achieve/improve upon the provincial wait time target from consultation to diagnosis for lung cancer patients (65% within 28 days), improving overall patient experience of care. Monthly patient volumes have increased by 65%, and wait time has improved by 60%.

Study Design: Data were collected from the Barth Syndrome Foundation Registry and relevant literature. With the advent of genetic testing and whole-exome sequencing, a multipronged Bayesian analysis was used to estimate the prevalence of Barth syndrome based on published data on the incidence and prevalence of cardiomyopathy and neutropenia, and the respective subpopulations of patients with Barth syndrome indicated in these publications.

Skeletal muscle myosin heavy chain (MyHC) fiber type composition is a critical determinant of overall muscle function and health. Various approaches interrogate fiber type at the single cell, but the two most commonly utilized are single-muscle fiber sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (smfSDS-PAGE) and fluorescent immunohistochemistry (IHC).
