Here we introduce CelloType, an end-to-end model designed for cell segmentation and classification for image-based spatial omics data. Unlike the traditional two-stage approach of segmentation followed by classification, CelloType adopts a multitask learning strategy that integrates these tasks, simultaneously enhancing the performance of both.

In this study, an efficient route to compute the multidimensional potential energy surfaces (PESs) for the description of quantum anharmonic molecular vibrations is presented. For large molecular systems, where the number of inter mode coupling terms are substantial, a tailor-made construction of truncated PESs is suggested which suitably avoids computation of full PESs by quantitative assessment of the atomic displacements during the normal mode of vibrations. It is shown that, typically, when two normal modes of vibrations are sharing the same atoms, the mode-mode coupling strength is generally large and can be included for truncated PESs.

Sigma bond cleavage through electronically excited states allows synthetically useful transformations with two radical species. Direct excitation of simple aryl halides to form both aryl and halogen radicals necessitates UV-C light, so undesired side reactions are often observed and specific equipment is required. A transient carbon-centered hydroperoxyalkyl intermediate (•QOOH) in the oxidation of cyclopentane is identified by IR action spectroscopy with time-resolved unimolecular decay to hydroxyl (OH) radical products that are detected by UV laser-induced fluorescence. Two nearly degenerate •QOOH isomers, β- and γ-QOOH, are generated by H atom abstraction of the cyclopentyl hydroperoxide precursor. Fundamental and first overtone OH stretch transitions and combination bands of •QOOH are observed and compared with anharmonic frequencies computed by second-order vibrational perturbation theory.

The disclosure of insect occurrences correlating with meteorological data is pivotal in devising effective management strategies for rice fields. Infrared (IR) action spectroscopy is utilized to characterize carbon-centered hydroperoxy-cyclohexyl radicals (·QOOH) transiently formed in cyclohexane oxidation. The oxidation pathway leads to three nearly degenerate ·QOOH isomers, β-, γ-, and δ-QOOH, which are generated in the laboratory by H-atom abstraction from the corresponding ring sites of the cyclohexyl hydroperoxide (CHHP) precursor. The IR spectral features of jet-cooled and stabilized ·QOOH radicals are observed from 3590 to 7010 cm-1 (∼10-20 kcal mol-1) at energies in the vicinity of the transition state (TS) barrier leading to OH radicals that are detected by ultraviolet laser-induced fluorescence.

The accuracy and performance of the effective harmonic oscillator approximation for the description of anharmonic vibrational structure calculations are tested for large molecular systems and compared with experimental values along with vibrational self-consistent field and second-order perturbation theories. The effective harmonic oscillator approach is an effective single-particle approximation where the variational parameters are the centroids and widths of the multidimensional Gaussian product functions posited as the vibrational wave functions. A comprehensive calculation for 849 transitions that include the fundamentals, two and three quanta overtone transitions, and several combination bands of three polyaromatic hydrocarbons and one DNA nucleobase with a total of 231 normal modes are assessed.

An IR-vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) ion-dip spectroscopy method is utilized to examine the IR spectrum of acetaldehyde oxide (CH3CHOO) in the overtone CH stretch (2νCH) spectral region. IR activation creates a depletion of the ground state population that reduces the VUV photoionization signal on the parent mass channel. IR activation of the more stable and populated syn-CH3CHOO conformer results in rapid unimolecular decay to OH + vinoxy products and makes the most significant contribution to the observed spectrum.

Oxygen transport from the lungs to peripheral tissue is dependent on the affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen. Recent experimental data have suggested that the maximum human capacity for oxygen uptake and utilization (V̇O max) at sea level and altitude (~3000 m) is sensitive to alterations in hemoglobin-oxygen affinity. In this work, the accuracy and convergence of different electronic basis set families for the computation of anharmonic molecular vibrational spectroscopic calculations are benchmarked. A series of 39 different basis sets from different families following their hierarchy are assessed on VSCF and VSCF-PT2 algorithms with commonly used MP2 and DFT based B3LYP-D potentials for a set of molecular systems. In this paper, a terminal sliding mode backstepping controller (TSMBC) has been proposed for various components of a hybrid AC/DC microgrid (HADMG) to enhance its dynamic stability. The proposed control technique is employed to generate switching control signals for converters, which serve as the primary interface between the DC bus and the AC bus in a hybrid microgrid. Additionally, this technique facilitates the interface of PMSG-based wind generators, solar photovoltaic generators, and battery energy storage systems with the DC bus.
