Purpose: The color of Papanicolaou-stained specimens is a crucial feature in cytology diagnosis. However, the quantification of color using digital images is challenging due to the variations in the staining process and characteristics of imaging equipment. The dye amount estimation of stained specimens is helpful for quantitatively interpreting the color based on a physical model.

Lobular endocervical glandular hyperplasia (LEGH) corresponds to gastric metaplasia, but is regarded as a pathological condition with subtle morphological abnormalities. LEGH is a benign lesion and a precursor to gastric-type adenocarcinoma.

However, the efficacy of HCQ has been established at doses of 6.5 mg/kg per ideal body weight.

While the hematoxylin-and-eosin (H&E) staining remains the standard for histological analysis, the immunohistochemistry (IHC) method provides molecular-level visualizations. Our study proposes a digital staining method to generate the hematoxylin-3,3'-diaminobenzidine (H-DAB) IHC stain of Ki-67 for the whole slide image of the EC tumor from its H&E stain counterpart.

Itaconate (ITA), an endogenous metabolite derived from the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, has attracted attention because of its anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antimicrobial effects. This study evaluated the effect of ITA on FLS and its potential to treat RA.

Particularly, geometrically frustrated magnets serve as a fertile playground for realizing magnetic superstructure phases. Here, we observe an unconventional two-step magnetostructural transition prior to a half-magnetization plateau in a breathing pyrochlore chromium spinel by means of state-of-the-art magnetization and magnetostriction measurements in ultrahigh magnetic fields available up to 600 T.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA Fresnel Zone Aperture (FZA) mask for a lensless camera, an ultra-thin and functional computational imaging system, is beneficial because the FZA pattern makes it easy to model the imaging process and reconstruct captured images through a simple and fast deconvolution. However, diffraction causes a mismatch between the forward model used in the reconstruction and the actual imaging process, which affects the recovered image's resolution. This work theoretically analyzes the wave-optics imaging model of an FZA lensless camera and focuses on the zero points caused by diffraction in the frequency response.

Irrefutable evidence has still been lacking due to experimental difficulties in verifying the condensation of the charge neutral and non-magnetic spin-singlet excitons. Whilst, condensation of spin-triplet excitons is a promising frontier because spin supercurrent and spin-Seebeck effects will be observable.

Because of the unique features of the vHOE, the STS can function as a holographic waveguide device (HWD) and enable the camera to capture the frontal image when the user gazes at the screen. This system not only provides an innovative solution to a high-quality video communication system by realizing eye-contact but also contributes to other visual applications due to its refined structure.

Neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) occurs in 30-40% of lupus patients and is the most severe presentation of SLE, frequently resulting in limitation of daily life. Recent studies have shown that microglia, tissue-resident macrophages in the central nervous system, are involved in the pathogenesis of NPSLE.

The improvement of image reconstruction is one of the most important subjects in lensless imaging. Semiconductor-to-metal transition accomplishes around 270 T observed as a sharp kink in the magnetoresistance, which implies the closing of the hybridization gap by the Zeeman shift of band edges. In the temperature-magnetic field phase diagram, the semiconductor-metal transition field is found to be almost independent of temperature, which is in contrast to a characteristic magnetic field associated with the hopping magnetoconduction in the in-gap localized states, exhibiting a notable temperature dependence.

Vanadium dioxide (VO) exhibits a first-order MI transition at 340 K. For more than half a century, it has been debated whether electron correlation or the structural instability due to dimerised V ions is the more essential driving force behind this MI transition.

In this study, we examined the effects of NBPs and non-NBPs on inflammatory responses, by quantifying the inflammatory mediators, prostaglandin E (PGE) and nitric oxide (NO), in cultured neonatal mouse calvaria. All examined NBPs (pamidronate, alendronate, incadronate, risedronate, zoledronate) stimulated lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced PGE and NO production by upregulating and mRNA expression, whereas non-NBPs (etidronate, clodronate, tiludronate) suppressed PGE and NO production, by downregulating gene expression.

Specifically, conventional magnetic order can potentially be destroyed by competing interactions and may be replaced by an exotic state that is characterized in terms of quasiparticles called magnons, the density and chemical potential of which are controlled by the magnetic field. Here we show that a synthetic copper mineral, Cd-kapellasite, which comprises a kagomé lattice consisting of corner-sharing triangles of spin-1/2 Cu ions, exhibits an unprecedented series of fractional magnetization plateaus in ultrahigh magnetic fields of up to 160 T.
