Background: The risk of second tumors after chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, especially the risk of T-cell neoplasms related to viral vector integration, is an emerging concern.
Methods: We reviewed our clinical experience with adoptive cellular CAR T-cell therapy at our institution since 2016 and ascertained the occurrence of second tumors. In one case of secondary T-cell lymphoma, a broad array of molecular, genetic, and cellular techniques were used to interrogate the tumor, the CAR T cells, and the normal hematopoietic cells in the patient.
Objective: Evaluate the effect of treatment delay on survival in human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive and HPV-negative oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) patients undergoing primary surgical resection.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study using the 2010-2017 National Cancer Database.

Background And Objectives: Cerebrovascular disease (CBVD) is frequently comorbid with autopsy-confirmed Alzheimer disease (AD), but its contribution to the clinical presentation of AD remains unclear. We leveraged the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) uniform and neuropathology datasets to compare the cognitive and functional trajectories of AD+/CBVD+ and AD+/CBVD- brain donors.
Methods: The sample included NACC brain donors with autopsy-confirmed AD (Braak stage ≥3, score ≥2) and complete Uniform Data Set (UDS) evaluations between 2005 and 2019, with the most recent UDS evaluation within 2 years of autopsy.
Background: Understanding the clinical course and short-term outcomes of suspected myocarditis after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination has important public health implications in the decision to vaccinate youth.
Methods: We retrospectively collected data on patients <21 years old presenting before July 4, 2021, with suspected myocarditis within 30 days of COVID-19 vaccination. Lake Louise criteria were used for cardiac MRI findings.
Context: Episodic breathlessness is characterized by increased breathlessness intensity, and it is burdensome for patients. A vicious cycle of breathlessness-anxiety/panic-breathlessness leads to emergencies that can rarely be alleviated by drugs. Non-pharmacological interventions seem to be beneficial: Can a brief cognitive and behavioral intervention help patients to better manage episodic breathlessness?
Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility, safety, acceptability, and potential effects of a brief cognitive and behavioral intervention for the management of episodic breathlessness.

We investigated whether site-specific modification of the gene ("gene editing")--in this case, the infusion of autologous CD4 T cells in which the CCR5 gene was rendered permanently dysfunctional by a zinc-finger nuclease (ZFN)--is safe.
Methods: We enrolled 12 patients in an open-label, nonrandomized, uncontrolled study of a single dose of ZFN-modified autologous CD4 T cells.
Bat wings are important for thermoregulation, but their role in heat balance during flight is largely unknown. More than 80% of the energy consumed during flight generates heat as a by-product, and thus it is expected that bat wings should dissipate large amounts of heat to prevent hyperthermia. We measured rectal (T(r)) and surface (T(s)) temperatures of Brazilian free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) as they emerged from and returned to their daytime roosts and calculated sensible heat transfer for different body regions (head, body, wings, and tail membrane).

The tilt series contain between 12 and 18 micrographs, spanning tilt ranges between 84 and 117 degrees. Reconstructions in three dimensions have been obtained by filtered back-projection from each tilt series.

We believe that the safety in using these guidelines for hemotherapy for elective surgery depends upon a sensitive and meticulously performed T & S, a mechanism by which ABO compatibility can be affirmed and an ongoing surveillance program to monitor the proper operation of these procedures.
