Quality control (QC) in mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics is mainly based on data-dependent acquisition (DDA) analysis of standard samples. Here, we collect 2754 files acquired by data independent acquisition (DIA) and paired 2638 DDA files from mouse liver digests using 21 mass spectrometers across nine laboratories over 31 months. Our data demonstrate that DIA-based LC-MS/MS-related consensus QC metrics exhibit higher sensitivity compared to DDA-based QC metrics in detecting changes in LC-MS status.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines how the thermal annealing of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) thin films on silicon dioxide substrates affects their crystalline structure and charge transport properties, noting that short-time annealing improves molecular ordering while long-time annealing disrupts it.
  • - Prolonged heat exposure leads to irreversible adsorption of P3HT chains at the polymer-solid interface, forming an amorphous layer that diminishes the film's overall crystallinity and disrupts ordering throughout the material.
  • - The research shows that optimal electrical performance in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) is achieved with carefully timed annealing, balancing molecular ordering and the negative effects of chain adsorption, thereby enhancing charge carrier

Hair loss affects over 50 million people worldwide with limited therapeutic options. Despite evidence highlighting the vital role of local immune cells in regulating the life cycle of hair follicles (HFs), accurate regulation of immunocytes to directly promote hair growth remains unachieved. Here, inspired by the physiological feedback in the skin immunity to suppress microbe-triggered inflammation, an oligosaccharide biomaterial with "unmasked" specific activity is developed to recruit regulatory T (T ) cells around HFs, leading to accelerated hair growth in mice.

A synthetic strategy for fabricating colloidal particles with spatially segregated amine-functionalized lobes enables regioselective coating with gold to afford metallodielectric particles with a variety of shapes and lobe sizes. This approach can produce either dissymmetric dumbbell-shaped two-lobed Au-TPM particles (Au-T) or dissymmetric or symmetric three-lobed particles with gold coating on one (Au-T-T and T-Au-T) or two lobes (Au-T-Au). Dielectrophoretic (DEP) forces exerted by an AC field confined between two opposing electrodes generate aggregates ranging from 1D chains to 2D close-packed lattices, depending on the particle shape and lobe arrangement.

Follicular helper T (T ) cells are essential for inducing germinal centre (GC) reactions to mediate humoral adaptive immunity and antiviral effects, but the mechanisms of T cell differentiation remain unclear. Here, we found that the hippo kinase MST1 is critical for T cell differentiation, GC formation, and antibody production under steady-state conditions and viral infection. MST1 deficiency intrinsically enhanced T cell differentiation and GC reactions in vivo and in vitro.

Dendritic cells (DCs) play an important role in anti-tumor immunity by inducing T cell differentiation. Herein, we found that the DC mechanical sensor Piezo1 stimulated by mechanical stiffness or inflammatory signals directs the reciprocal differentiation of T1 and regulatory T (T) cells in cancer. Genetic deletion of Piezo1 in DCs inhibited the generation of T1 cells while driving the development of T cells in promoting cancer growth in mice.
