Previous studies have shown a correlation between resting heart rate (HR) measured by wearable devices and serum free thyroxine concentration in patients with thyroid dysfunction. We have developed a machine learning (ML)-assisted system that uses HR data collected from wearable devices to predict the occurrence of thyrotoxicosis in patients. HR monitoring data were collected using a wearable device for a period of 4 months in 175 patients with thyroid dysfunction.

Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is the only curative therapy for myelofibrosis (MF). We report on the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance and stability of Cu(In,Ga)Se (CIGS)-based photocathodes for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution from water. Various functional overlayers, such as CdS, TiO, ZnSnO, and a combination of the aforementioned, were applied on the CIGS to improve the performance and stability. We identified that the insertion of TiO overlayer on p-CIGS/n-buffer layers significantly improves the PEC performance.

Three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) modeling, comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA), and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) of polyhydroxylated N-benzylbenzamide derivatives containing an adamantyl moiety were performed to understand the mechanism of action and structure-activity relationship of these compounds. Contour map analysis indicated that steric contributions of the adamantyl moiety and electrostatic contributions of the hydroxyl group at the 3-position are important in the activity. Activities of the training set and test sets predicted by CoMFA fit well with actual activities, demonstrating that CoMFA, along with the best calculated q(2) value, has the best predictive ability.
