While mutations affecting protein-coding regions have been examined across many cancers, structural variants at the genome-wide level are still poorly defined. Through integrative deep whole-genome and -transcriptome analysis of 101 castration-resistant prostate cancer metastases (109X tumor/38X normal coverage), we identified structural variants altering critical regulators of tumorigenesis and progression not detectable by exome approaches. Notably, we observed amplification of an intergenic enhancer region 624 kb upstream of the androgen receptor (AR) in 81% of patients, correlating with increased AR expression.

We previously reported that some single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of candidate genes involved in the MTOR complex1 (MTORC1) were associated with risk of gastric cancer (GCa). The present study was designed to improve storage stability and oral bioavailability of Ganneng dropping pills (GNDP) by transforming lignans of Herpetospermum caudigerum (HL) composed of herpetrione (HPE) and herpetin (HPN) into nanosuspension (HL-NS), the main active ingredient of GNDP, HL-NS was prepared by high pressure homogenization and lyophilized to transform into solid nanoparticles (HL nanoparticles), and then the formulated HL nanoparticles were perfused into matrix to obtain NS-GNDP by melting method. For a period of 3 months, the content uniformity, storage stability and pharmacokinetics test in vivo of NS-GNDP were evaluated and compared with regular GNDP at room temperature. The results demonstrated that uniformity of dosage units of NS-GNDP was acceptable according to the criteria of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2015J.

In order to elucidate pressure-induced second superconducting phase (SC-II) in A FeSe (A = K, Rb, Cs, and Tl) having an intrinsic phase separation, we perform a detailed high-pressure magnetotransport study on the isoelectronic, phase-pure (LiFe )OHFeSe single crystals. Here we show that its ambient-pressure superconducting phase (SC-I) with a critical temperature T ≈ 40 K is suppressed gradually to below 2 K and an SC-II phase emerges above P ≈ 5 GPa with T increasing progressively to above 50 K up to 12.5 GPa.

Harnessing the spin-momentum locking of topological surface states in conjunction with magnetic materials is the first step to realize novel topological insulator-based devices. Here, we report strong interfacial coupling in BiSe/yttrium iron garnet (YIG) bilayers manifested as large interfacial in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA) and enhancement of damping probed by ferromagnetic resonance. The interfacial IMA and damping enhancement reaches a maximum when the BiSe film approaches its two-dimensional limit, indicating that topological surface states play an important role in the magnetization dynamics of YIG.

High-quality CrO films were synthesized on TiO (100) substrates at different temperatures using the chemical vapor deposition method in argon or nitrogen atmosphere. It was found that the lower limit for the growth temperature of CrO films can be reduced to 310 or 300 °C when using Ar or N as the carrier gas, respectively. The quality of CrO film on TiO substrate can thus be improved by optimizing growth temperature in a much larger range (310-400 °C in Ar and 300-430 °C in N, in contrast with 390-410 °C in O), which is significant for the practical application of CrO films.

KCrAs is a newly discovered quasi-1D superconductor with a T   =  6.1 K and an upper critical field µ H (0)  ≈  40 T three times larger than the Pauli paramagnetic limit µ H that is suggestive of a spin-triplet Cooper pairing. The investigations into the interfaces in iron selenide (FeSe) thin films on various substrates have manifested the great potential of showing high-temperature-superconductivity in this unique system. In present work, we obtain FeSe thin films with a series of thicknesses on calcium fluoride (CaF) (100) substrates and glean the detailed information from the FeSe/CaF interface by using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). Intriguingly, we have found the universal existence of a calcium selenide (CaSe) interlayer with a thickness of approximate 3 nm between FeSe and CaF in all the samples, which is irrelevant to the thickness of FeSe layers.

The σ-hole tetrel bond in pyrazine/1,4-dicyanobenzene⋅⋅⋅TH F (T=C and Si) and the π-hole tetrel bond in pyrazine/1,4-dicyanobenzene⋅⋅⋅F TO have been compared. The π-hole tetrel bond is stronger than the corresponding σ-hole tetrel bond, with a larger interaction energy, shorter binding contact, greater electron density, and bigger charge transfer. Pyrazine forms a more stable tetrel-bonded complex than 1,4-dicyanobenzene even though the nitrogen atom in the former has a smaller negative electrostatic potential than the latter.
