Ocular manifestation of systemic histiocytosis in a dog.

A 3-year-old sexually intact female Bernese Mountain Dog was referred for treatment of a descemetocele of the left eye. Physical examination revealed bilateral exophthalmos and scleral thickening, multiple cutaneous nodules, and mandibular paralysis in addition to ulcerative keratitis associated with a Pseudomonas infection. One year prior to examination, a biopsy specimen of the episcleral tissue from the right eye had been interpreted as nodular granulomatous episclerokeratitis (fibrous histiocytoma).

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty in patients with unstable angina pectoris refractory to medical therapy: long-term clinical and angiographic results.

The purpose of this study was to assess the results of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) in 469 consecutive patients with unstable angina pectoris refractory to medical therapy. The primary success rate was 88%, but, since the introduction of the steerable wire system, the success rate has increased to 90%. Mortality was 1%.

Long-term angiographic follow up, cardiac events, and survival in patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.

The results of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty were studied in 1352 consecutive patients. The angioplasty procedure was angiographically successful in 1163 (86%) patients and the success rate increased gradually with time. There were no significant differences in success rates in different vessels or indications.

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty in patients with prior coronary artery bypass grafting. Long-term results.

In 83 patients with previous coronary artery bypass grafting, 92 percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty attempts were done, 33 in a venous bypass graft (success rate 97%) and 59 in a native coronary artery (success rate 86.4%). There were no procedural-related deaths and two myocardial infarctions.
