Purpose: We are developing a three-dimensional X-ray fluorescence computed tomography (3D XFCT) system using non-radioactive-labeled compounds for preclinical studies as a new modality that provides images of biological functions. Improvements in image quality and detection limits are required for the in vivo imaging. The aim of this study was to improve the quality of XFCT images by applying a deep image prior (DIP), which is a type of convolutional neural network, to projection images as a pre-denoising method, and then compare with DIP post-denoising.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate a novel technique for cell tracking by visualising the activity of the human sodium/iodide symporter (hNIS) after transplantation of hNIS-expressing multilayered cell sheets in a rat model of chronic myocardial infarction.

Methods: Triple-layered cell sheets were generated from mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) derived from mice overexpressing hNIS (hNIS-Tg). Myocardial infarction was induced by permanent ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery in F344 athymic rats, and a triple-layered MEFs sheets were transplanted to the infarcted area two weeks after surgery.

Poststroke neuroinflammation exacerbates disease progression. [C]PK11195-positron emission tomography (PET) imaging has been used to visualize neuroinflammation; however, its short half-life of 20 min limits its clinical use. [I]CLINDE has a longer half-life (13h); therefore, [I]CLINDE-single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging is potentially more practical than [C]PK11195-PET imaging in clinical settings.

Purpose: Oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) plays a key role in endothelial dysfunction, vascular inflammation, and atherogenesis. The aim of this study was to assess blood clearance and in vivo kinetics of radiolabeled oxLDL in mice.

Methods: We synthesized I-oxLDL by the iodine monochloride method, and performed an uptake study in CHO cells transfected with lectin-like oxLDL receptor-1 (LOX-1).
