The anti-HIV-1 activity of kappa and lambda-carrageenans from , original highly sulfated X-carrageenan with low content of 3,6-anhydrogalactose from and i/κ-carrageenan with hybrid structure isolated from was found. The antiviral action of these polysaccharides and its low-weight oligosaccharide was compared with commercial κ-carrageenan.
