An organic triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion system consting of Ir(coumarin-6)(acac) and TIPS-naphthalene is used to drive overall water-splitting using the UV-active photocatalyst Rh/CrO/CoOOH/Al:SrTiO. Light from 455 and 470 nm LEDs was upconverted to 355-410 nm at 6.1% efficiency.

PNS has gained popularity in orthopedic surgery as several studies have supported its use as a pain control device for patients suffering from pain due to orthopedic pathologies involving the knee, shoulder, and foot. The purpose of this systematic review is to summarize the literature involving peripheral nerve stimulation in orthopedic surgery.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFRadiation therapy is a first-line treatment for head and neck cancer; however, it typically leads to hyposalivation stemming from fibrosis of the salivary gland. Current strategies to restore glandular function are dependent on the presence of residual functional salivary gland tissue, a condition commonly not met in patients with extensive fibrotic coverage of the salivary gland resulting from radiation therapy. Fibrosis is defined by the pathological accumulation of connective tissue ( extracellular matrix) and excessive deposition of crosslinked (fibrillar) collagen that can impact a range of tissues and given that collagen crosslinking is necessary for fibrosis formation, inhibiting this process is a reasonable focus for developing anti-fibrotic therapies.
