No "One-Size-Fits All": chronic "Carryover" diagnoses dilute antibiotic prescribing rates for sinusitis among adults in primary and urgent care settings.

International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) billing data used in outpatient stewardship metrics is under-described for acute and chronic sinusitis. We found that different sinusitis ICD-10 definitions impacted antibiotic prescribing rates (APRs). Chronic sinusitis ICD-10s dilute overall sinusitis APR, particularly in primary care settings and should be examined separately.

Irritability in stroke: a protocol for a prospective study.

Background: Poststroke irritability (PSI) is common among stroke survivors and can lead to a poor quality of life, difficulties in social interactions, criticism from caregivers, and caregiver stress. The planned study will evaluate the clinical, neuropsychological, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) correlates of PSI in a cohort of stroke survivors. In addition, the study will examine the 15-month progression of PSI.

Development of a Modified QuEChERS Extraction for the Detection of Rosemary Extracts (E392) Expressed as Sum of Carnosol and Carnosic Acid in Food by LC-MS/MS.

Background: Rosemary extracts are derived from the leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis and commonly employed as natural food preservative. They serve as natural antioxidants in food, preventing spoilage and extending shelf life.

Objective: This study aimed to develop a modified QuEChERS extraction with liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry for the analysis of rosemary extracts in food as sum of its markers Carnosol and Carnosic Acid.

Loss of empathy in stroke.

Background: Loss of empathy (LoE) is common among stroke survivors, yet often undiagnosed and thus untreated. LoE is related to the loss of a caring marital relationship, higher care burden and poorer quality of life in carers. The present study will evaluate the clinical and MRI correlates of LoE in a cohort of stroke survivors.
