Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogenous lung condition characterized by progressive airflow obstruction. Despite advancements in diagnosis and treatment, the disease burden remains high; although clinical trials have shown improvements in outcomes such as exacerbations, quality of life, and lung function, improvement may not be attainable for many patients. For patients who do experience improvement, it is challenging to set management goals given the progressive nature of COPD.

Objectives: The TETRIS study aims to elucidate influences on treatment decisions surrounding triple therapy in a real-world practice setting in Germany.
Design: TETRIS is an ongoing, multicenter, prospective, observational cohort study recruiting patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with or without asthma who have already been treated with triple therapy for 2-48 weeks.

Liquid biopsy for CNS tumors is in its nascent phase, hindered by the low levels of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). Overcoming this challenge requires highly sensitive molecular techniques. DD-PCR emerges as a standout technique due to its ability to identify rare mutations, copy number variations, and circulating nucleic acids, making it one of the best methods for identifying somatic mutations in cell-free DNA (cfDNA).

To address these issues, we investigated the functionalization of polyester biomaterials with antithrombogenic polysaccharide coatings. A two-step and water-based method was used to coat cationized polycaprolactone with different sulfated polysaccharides (SPS), which resulted in long-term stability, tunable morphology, roughness, film thickness, chemical compositions, zeta potential, and water content.
